So, I've been in this area to go to The Electric Boat company (which is also awesome if you haven't been), how did I not know about this place?? It's so COOL! I didn't even know that Cigar Bars were a "thing" in Seattle. I guess because smoking in public places is against the law, they had to make this a private club, so I'm just lucky enough to have a friend who is a member (Thanks Matt!) and he took me there. I don't usually smoke cigars, but there is a few perfect times in life that I especially enjoy this activity: when it's a cold Seattle winter night and I want to sit with friends and enjoy some good times and on a warm summer evening with the view of water. If that sounds good to you too, this is your place. It's on the west side of Lake Union. There is a parking lot right in front..usually it seems like a lot of cars, but both times I've gone, I've had no problem getting parking. There is this cigar store called Union Cigar Society right next to this space. They have a pretty big selection, but I don't know that much about cigars. The good news is the staff there answered all of my questions and they suited me up with a stogie that was perfect for my "I'm a new cigar smoker" status. Then, it's just a few steps over to the Obulus room for pure cigar chill-out mode. The room it's self is cozy with places to have conversations which is what I love. There is also a pool table, a ping pong table and what I think is a table for game or card playing? There was a TV there, but I think it was off when I was there. It wasn't too crammed with people, but it was a comfortable amount of guests there. I had a good time, for sure something interesting and off the beaten path for Seattle!
