There are a lot of reviews still under this name from when the place made bbq, and when they catered, if I am understanding all this correctly. They're now a burger joint only, with a short, well-designed menu, and they're tearing it up. If you're interested in a good burger with some subtle twists to it, don't hesitate based on old review scores. This place is rad now. It's in the semi-industrial south side of downtown, with wide streets, decent parking, and lots of buildings put up in the 40s-60s when Boeing was first really booming. Uneven sidewalks, kind of an odd patio, and a dining room that must have been a couple other things through the decades before it became a restaurant. Continuing the industrial theme, I'm guessing by how loud a couple other diners were talking, they probably work around LOUD machines all day. It's a friendly blue-collar vibe. There are booths in back, and sturdy little tables up front. The tables have tin tops that look like they probably got cut somewhere on this very block because the owners of these places are all friendly. There's old beer memorabilia, car memorabilia, and music memorabilia on the walls. The music's always playing and tends toward rowdy roadhouse country. I didn't hear anything too cowpunky, but I did see a framed poster from a Blasters show tacked up in the hall. The staff could not be friendlier, nicer, or more organized. They keep everything moving and you get all your food and refills super quickly. You get a little plastic menu on your table, and you're in business. Unsweet Tea This had good flavor and being from here, I appreciate the option to order iced tea without sugar. She never let the glass sit empty, either--she was quick with refills. Hand Cut Fries These are no joke. Crispy edges, soft inside, non-greasy for every bite. I know a few people who could probably take down more than one order of these, but one is a good serving that won't leave you feeling beached after you eat. Texas Heat Burger Every patty here is ground pork, which isn't insanely different, to be honest. There are so many other flavors on most burgers that pork is just a little juicier and a little milder in flavor, compared to ground beef. This one has lots of peppers on it but for my money it just added some tang and a couple other mild flavors, no real burning heat at all. But it was delicious. Fried Green Tomatoes They're proud of their FGTs for good reason. You can get them in 2 entrees and as a side on their own. They coat them with plenty of cornmeal, which really adds to the crunch and flavor. The fryer sounds like a jet plane taking off; they really sizzle in there. They're too hot to even touch, much less eat, when they hit your table. And when you do take the first bite, remember that the tomato inside is magma in the center, because the core just liquefies in that hot fryer. Absolutely delicious but don't scald your mouth. Be patient. FGT Sandwich More delicious tomatoes, but maybe they could rethink the rest of this. Instead of the nice burger buns, some toasted sourdough would be rad. Instead of coarse-chopped romaine, maybe some leaf lettuce. Instead of chopped bacon, maybe thick rashers. It feels more like a vegetarian burger than a sandwich right now, and building it as a sandwich instead would really show off the FGT and land with bigger flavors overall. We were out the door for $70 for 2 entrees, 2 sides, 2 drinks, and a good tip. Not the cheapest lunch, but not unheard-of prices anymore. And so worth it. It's AWESOME to find fried green tomatoes a little closer to home; we've been driving to Tacoma for 'em.

I came here with a coworker for lunch. This place is connected with Slims Last Chance. We came in and the ambience was that of a bbq place. Not like famous Dave's or Dickey's but like hole in the wall (in a good way) kind of place. I got the rib plate lunch with greens and mashed potato salad. The ribs were okay. They were a bit dry and I would have liked to see more of a bark on it with more bite. The greens were delicious! I don't normally like collard greens but these were amazing! The mashed potato salad was interesting. The flavor was there but it was odd to feel the texture of mashed potatoes thinking of an actual potato salad. I would still get it again. :) The customer service was great. There wasn't a lot of people there anyways, but she always made sure to check on us and ask if we needed anything.

Small BBQ shop with a nice rustic southern style atmosphere good music selection. the pulled pork is moist and Smokey with a nice balanced rub. Really good pork! The regular BBQ sauce is ok with a bit much on the ketchup flavor, the hot bbq sauce is Smokey with a little kick, their mustard based BBQ sauce is spot on ! Coleslaw was a nice southern style creamy slaw that has a good balance. The beans i am not a fan, had a weird flavor too much chipotle or chili powder. They have there own labeled cola, they also sell Dads root beer.

This restaurant is most certainly NOT a 2-3 star place. It's at least a solid 4. The flavor of their brisket might be one of the best in the downtown Seattle and surrounding area. Their Collard Green and their Jalapeño Spinach Casserole were both purely delicious. Both of them slightly spicy. The service was good and servers were very pleasant. The menu is a little pricier than other places but once I tasted the food, I didn't mind the price any longer. The brisket was well smoked and very tender, as was their pulled pork. They were both meaty and the portions are satisfying, unlike a few other places I have gone to. If you like BBQ and haven't visited this place, you should definitely make it a stop in your near future.

PIG VOMIT BBQ is the worst BBQ I've ever eaten or tried to eat.... Now I've made the effort to try this twice and each time I tossed my plate of food away. My biggest regret was I didn't walk into SLIMS and just have some chili! I fly to Texas for real BBQ so I know quality BBQ and this place is not one of them.. They should pay Arron Franklin to teach them the finer points of BBQ cooking. Or at least go to BBQ cooking school. Do your taste buds and wallet a favor and wait for McRib sandwich to come back before entering PIG VOMIT BBQ!

Known for their BBQ catfish (platter or sandwich works) so give it a go. It's not smothered in BBQ like I feared, but it had an interesting flavoring. The catfish sandwich and potato salad as the side that I ordered was tasty. The salad wasn't to my liking, but it wasn't shabby. Their homemade "sweet" tea isn't comparable to the South's, but hey, it is the west coast version. Don't be freaked out since the staff will be covered with tattoos, but they are super friendly. This is a family business so I guess the customer service level, aside from the food, has probably given this place much hype. You can see their many awards displayed at the front as you enter so the rep is more than just hype. The hours of this place is like from 11 AM to 4 PM so plan your trip accordingly. Parking can be found behind the building.

Was going to carry out and decided to hang as the atmosphere is typical BBQ joint that's easily located just a block north of Marginal Way on 1st St. as you head north toward downtown. I got the chopped brisket sandwich and was able to taste the potato salad, cole slaw, spinach casserole, link sausage and ribs. They put on some bread and butter pickles and sweet onion slices on the plates as a garnish. There's 3 different sauces; regular, chipotle and mustard Carolina sauce. The chopped brisket was good and I found that adding on the pickles, onions and some of the chipotle sauce brought it out a bit more. I was pleasantly surprised with the chipotle sauce. Only had a few bites of the baby back ribs (they ran out), but they had a good burnt end taste and they were pretty good although need to eat more to really have good feedback on them. The link sausage was a disappointment as it was mixed with some kind of sauce as I like my meat plain and I add the sauce. They have chicken and turkey, but it was meh too. Stick with the ribs and brisket is my advice for my taste. As for the sides, the spinach jalapeño casserole was really good and the best side they had hands down. The other sides I tasted were the mashed potato salad and the cole slaw; meh. Actually, the pickles and the onions were the best sides in my mind; that's not a good thing. Overall, I'm not disappointed in Pig Iron, just not so impressed I'll make a habit of coming here often. To quote the late Robert Eddison, "But choose wisely, for while the true BBQ will bring you life, the false BBQ will take it from you". Hope you choose wisely.
