This has to be the fastest time EVER to board a ship. Wow. Two ships in port, but it was clear where to go, we dropped our bags with the porter and the proceeded inside. Once you presented your passport and boarding pass, you were then sent up the escalator to check in. Everything was automated with photos etc and then we were sent to the priority boarding area (which could have been a little nicer honestly) Three minutes later they were ready for proper boarding so we couldn't have timed that more perfectly. The staff were all super friendly and very 'celebratory' with us about boarding the ship- which I love the energy. The ramps weren't super long or steep either so we boarded quickly. Nice experience.

Smith Cove is one of two very busy cruise terminals in downtown Seattle. This location is the one used by Princess and Holland America, and its a bit further from the main tourist district. On my last few cruises to Alaska, I arrived at this terminal via Uber. The rideshare pick up and drop off area is a brief walk to the main check-in area, so be aware if you are coming with a ton of heavy bags. It's about a 5 minute walk if you walk at a brisk pace. The terminal itself is spacious and the employees are terrific at crowd control. Even during the busiest times, they keep you moving. To me, this is one of the least stressful cruise ship terminals in the U.S.

Getting on was easy enough and pretty streamlined. We were dropped off by a shuttle. We paid extra for from our hotel. They dropped us off at the porters. The porters were there and available to take any bags. Just be sure to bring a tip for them. Was directed where to go to check in and the process was very fast, simple and easy. Getting off and out however was a different story. Took forever to get off the boat and into the terminal. The staff upon exit was not very nice or friendly. Was difficult to know where to go after getting out of the building as well. Just get told to keep moving. We did finally find a spot for uber pickups and opted to go that route. It is a bit of a walk so just be prepared especially as you are likely carrying all of your stuff with you at this point.

9/14/2025 - Surprised and surprised, the Port of Seattle, known as SMITH COVE CRUISE TERMINAL, still does not have a digital facial technology (数字面部技术) for all cruise ships' guests. When we exited the cruise ship and walked through a final security exit point, we must pull out our passport and showed the security staff, who must read the contents of the password and match the face with the passport photo, etc., which dramatically slows the flow of the exit from more than 3,000 to 4,000 guests. In comparison, the Port of Los Angeles or the Port of Long Beach Cruise Terminal has been using a more secured digital facial recognition technology. As a result, the disembarkation is so fast - must give the leadership at the City of Los Angeles and Long Beach a thump up!!! The WiFi signal is very weak or none, as if we were arriving at a developing country. Basically, once you arrive at the entrance of the Cruise Terminal, you will not be able to communicate with anyone if your cell phone service provider is Spectrum or Verizon, but I do not know if T- Mobile or AT&T will provide a better signal or not. Where is Microsoft or Amazon's leadership in Seattle? Please help the Port of Seattle to adopt a pervasive digital facial recognition technology at the SMITH COVE CRUISE TERMINAL ASAP to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN. The ride sharing pickup location is far away from the exit area!!! You must walk a long distance with your luggage. Transferring to the airport is available at the exit area at $30 per person, but you may get a better price with a group of 5 or more via a negotiation on the spot at $20 per person.

When we took our trip to Alaska this is where our ship Embarked and Disembarked. We were on Holland America. When getting dropped off there is an area for Uber pickup where our driver actually dropped us off, but they can actually get you closer. They are not allowed to pick you up closer but can drop you off closer. Wish we or our driver would have known because it was a little bit of a walk. When you check in you go through basic check points. They check your passports, take your pics and as long as you have everything in order it goes pretty smoothly. If you are checking in any bags they have an area where you hand them your bags as long as they are properly tagged. When disembarking its pretty simple. Same process they scan you out and as long as you have everything in order you are good. I will say at least on out disembarkation it was a little more chaotic. Seemed like there was a lot more ships disembarking and embarking so the crowds were massive. Trying to find a worker to help direct us to where we needed to go was also hard. We ended up renting a car so it was in the parking lot near the Uber pickup. The good thing is there is a shuttle that takes you to the Uber area but it can take a while if there is a lot of people. We didn't mind the wait. So in reality there is minimal walking required if you take the right steps. Overall its a decent port. Just have everything in order and expect it to be chaotic if you go during a busy time. Just remember even if you encounter some hiccups you are just moments away from starting you beautiful vacation.

wifi/reception sucks here so make sure you print or screenshot your tickets/documents or else you will be holding up line. no app checking here , and one of workers said it was annoying with the internet. checking in the port was actually not too bad at all. make sure all people in same room check in together. checking out the port was the problem. we probably waited in line for taxi for 30/40 min. if you had a worker push a luggage cart for you, it seems as if they get to cut the line which is unfair. taxi fee to airport is 20 per person OR flat 85 dollars in 2025.

It was chaos to get through this terminal to make it onto our cruise ship! The porters were nowhere to be found. The area that we had to get our passport checked was unorganized and that lines were long. I've gone on a cruise before in Florida and it did not feel nearly this chaotic. My family who recently went on a cruise using the Long Beach port also said it was not this chaotic as well. After a little over an hour, we finally made it through this terminal and into our ship.

On a Saturday morning on June 1st. We arrived by taxi and dropped off four our princess cruise. By 8:30am. Lots of People were getting off and lined up for taxi or shared ride. At first we were lost and new to pier 91. We read the signs and crossed the busy street to check in line. By 9am, the line got longer and stretched to other line. No spot to dropped off luggage. So we found a porter with empty rack to pick up our luggage. By 10am, the check in door was opened and the process to check in was smooth and waited in room until our number was called. Best to arrived by 8:30am to wait in the line at the check in door.

Great staff all around, ported here for Alaska cruise. Hard to get our if, taxi instead of ubering or lyfting. Taxis are cash and should be no more than $60 to the airport.

Came to this pier to get onto Majestic Princess Cruise. It was pretty easy to unload suitcases and have the porter take it onto the ship (make sure you tip your porter). My brother accidentally left his passport in his suitcase which he needed but one of the workers were able to track his suitcase before it went on the ship and brought it outside for us. Everything went smoothly for us when we were there to get on board and when we left. It's also very easy to grab a taxi to get to the airport.
