An experience to be had, just go already!

We love our tasting menu experiences and try to do one once a year and each one is so unique and different they really cannot be compared. What stood out for this place is:
1. The staff! The second we met the first face they were friendly, vibrant, engaged and obviously happy to be there. We heard so many incredible stories on how they ended up at remote little Lummi island from NYC, Mexico city, New Orleans and others. They had the time to stop and chat, and answer our (many) questions, share how things came to be, where food came from, it was unending knowledge "cuisine" we devoured.
2. The food! We had a light lunch around 330p, fresh incredible greens (ice plant anyone?) and homemade sausages (got the last plate!), we're both the perfect before the feast to come. Cocktails, the 12 course meal with wine pairing and the surprise breakfast (we thought there would be a menu, we were totally wrong!) were some incredibly fresh, simple yet creative plates, the food shined with it's natural elements. There were different influences in almost every plate and the sommelier was off the charts spot on with small batch and international wines I could only dream of buying for ourselves again.

A birthday present from my wife. Admittedly we had high expectations given its reputation but it feel short of them. The location is fabulous, of course, with views of north Puget Sound and islands. The evening began with fruit, however, it wasn't ripe which is a problem when it's served alone and with nowhere to hide. The following dishes were better but very little stood out as excellent. The desert course was to put it lightly, a frank embarrassment as you can see from the photos. If this were to be reviewed by Guide Michelin it would not receive a one star. The quality of the meal is not there.The setting and the service were top notch but the meal was at best very good for a regular restaurant and definitely not worth the drive or money. I say this as someone who has dined at the best restaurants in the US and around europe so I believe I have an adequate experience from which to draw this conclusion. I hope they continue to improve but so far it's just very good.

One of the most exquisite and beautiful meals I had in a really long time. Presentation was deceivingly simple but yet beautiful because it tasted amazing!

Strongest impression of dishes were right from the get go. Started off with 6 taster size plates, all of them blew our taste buds to heaven. The desert, a simple looking quenelle of ice cream accompanied by 4 little quenelle packed with an explosion of flavors are a perfect match. We ordered coffee and tea after our main meals and the accompanied chocolate leaves and biscuits were so delicious and especially the biscuits because they were warm, crispy and very tasty, it goes really well with our coffee and tea. The lamb skewers, clams, and pumpkin were also very delicious but it didn’t leave as strong a impression as the other dishes for me. I think the dry fruits were part of the desert but that was way too sweet for me.

Overall it was quite a pricey meal but special one nonetheless. I would suggest going to Willows Inn on special occasion like we did. We thoroughly enjoy the food and experience very much! Maybe next time we will try staying a night and try their breakfast too. *Top tip, get there early and you can pick your table :) *

Not living up to the hype. Some dishes were executed beautifully. However, oysters were overpowered by watercress soup. Crab brain did not have much taste at all. The service was great. Every server was nice, polite and super helpful.

Hands down best meal of life. Most unique hyper local ingredients served by happy, fun, and laid back staff (who do everything right). Worth the money, the planning to get a reservation and the drive. So much better than any M starred restaurant.
