Listen, Roll Play has a pretty good Taro boba. However after being around for a couple years it still seems they are struggling. When they use the cup sealer it's not sealed properly, sometimes it's got two of the seals, sometimes it's just not sealed on all the way. And then if that's okay well then the straw is too small so every boba bit gets stuck. Oh man but if those two are okay then it's the boba pearls itself. Ahh. Boba is not a new concept for me, I've had my fair share but when the boba is so over cooked that some of it seems to be melted and that as you sip the slush you are also accidentally swallowing the pearls because they're so soft, small, and mushy that you can't even feel it in your mouth until its too late. Completely different from someone swallowing a boba pearl that is firm and round where the moment it enters your mouth and is no longer in the straw you are aware. And because the pearls are so warm, it melts the bottom of your slush. Sure you can swirl it around but it'll still melt the nearby slush. It shouldn't be too warm or borderline hot. If I wanted milk tea I would've just ordered that. And then, on top of all that if if IF all that seems to be fine. It's the wait time. It seems like it takes so long to get your drink if there's people ordering food. Like if you go in and it's a board game meet up, good luck. It's gonna be a half hour for 2 slushy drinks. If they cannot work under the pressure of having to serve their whole space full of people in a board game meet up group, then just say it's for a private event or something. You don't even wait that long at bubbling teapot if you're getting drinks when the nearby schools have just gotten out. Honestly so ridiculous, and I forgot to mention that the taro flavor varies. Sometimes it's good like something you'd get in the PNW and sometimes it's a hint of taro, sometimes it tastes like a mouth full of powder. I'll give it 2 stars because when it's good it's good, but when is it good? Hmm well not when they're in a rush so get there right when they open IF they open on time?

This place is interesting. Nestled in a really cool historic building along with other shops, bars, and restaurants, it's tucked away in a corner past a makers' space. You'll find two large shelving units loaded with serious board games. We opted to try out Reef and Codenames Duet. They games were pretty beat up, which made the rules hard to follow since they were falling apart. I don't really fault them for this but it did reduce the experience. We ordered rice bowls and chips and dip, and my son got a boba tea he really enjoyed. The chips were straight out of a Costco bag if I had to guess, and the guacamole was quite plain. The rice bowls were better, with decent portions and flavor. Still nothing to write home about but not bad. Overall the place doesn't compare favorably to other board games cafè experiences I've had elsewhere. If it's close by and you want to hang out, go for it! Just lower the bar a notch before you go.

The space is very lovely and has a nice atmosphere. I've been coming here since before they moved. The boba is just a little lack luster. I got the brown sugar milk tea and it just wasn't mixed the best. The Taiyaki also had almost no filling either. Overall kind of disappointing but not the worst. Hope to see improvement!

Love Roll Play, back for the same order: Taiwanese Lurou fan (braised pork rice) and rose black milk tea but this time iced, with boba and crushed Oreos! Never had crushed Oreos in milk tea before but I do like it! Will reorder. Service was tip top this day, employees are always so attentive and gentle and friendly, very approachable and all around makes the gaming experience so homely. Fresh cucumbers and pickled radish in the rice bowl makes all the difference~ Would the owners consider opening a branch on the west side?

This is a cute little cafe with snacky food and tons of board games. You can order at the counter or directly on your table with the QR code menus and the food was good. The real highlight, however, is the extensive board game collection with options for every type of game lover. Great for a date night or friends or even a fun family outing I can't think of anyone who wouldn't find something to immerse themselves in.

Roll Play is a fun place to hang out and play games. It's like a board game coffeehouse. For a small fee of five dollars, you can play a board game with friends or family. There is also a food and drink menu that you can order from. It's a really cool concept. The games are fun, unfortunately the food is average and not very memorable. I still recommend Roll Play for a fun atmosphere. The staff were very friendly.

For anyone who likes to host board game gatherings, this is really the dream business for them which fits all their needs well. There is practically every major game one can think of, available to rent at an extremely reasonable price with plenty of space to host. The menu here is pretty extensive with lots of different food and drink options, which cover a variety of different asian cuisines at a reasonable price. There's plenty of milk tea, lemonade, green tea, slush, and other options here to cover any drink needs that one may have.

This is such a cute place! My young adult & I relaxed and played games while enjoying some kim-bap & boba tea. This is a great place to spend time & connect with friends & family. Very unique & special experience.

This is a hidden gem in Gerver Mill. I had lunch from here on a Sunday. I was there early, so got a seat right away. But the place got busy right after. They have a lot of board games available. If you get food for some amoung (I think $20) you can play the games for free. Else pay a small fee for the game. I didn't play the games, but everyone else was. Bibimbap with Bulgogi beef was my favorite item. Definetely get the soy egg. It was very flavorful. Rose bandung was an amazing drink. It is rose milk, but has real rose petals in it. Real flavorful. Milo dinosour drink was ok. Singaporean chicken rice was good. Red bean taiyaki was good as well.

This was a cool place to explore inside of garver feed mill. They have about 8 tables that seat about 2-4 people. We came around noon on a Saturday; maybe about half of the tables were occupied. We stayed for about 3 hours - I think depending upon the day or time this could be difficult to get a seat here. A wide variety of games to play-classics included and some of our other favorites: ticket to ride, wingspan, catan, azul. We came to try another board game too! They do have a game fee that depends on your party size, but for food purchase of more than $20, they waive that fee. They do serve beer, boba and some tasty snacks. We got the tawainese pork belly and the tteokbokki. It's super easy to meet the $20, and the food is delicious! Would definitely come back. The only one recommendation I wish they had was having a system where you could just open a tab. We started with drinks and made another transaction for food. Not a huge deal breaker but would be convenient for staff and patrons.
