I have to say I was very pleased with Alamo! My usual company is Hertz but their rental rates in Milwaukee were ridiculous for graduation weekend. Alamo was much less but the mileage was capped at 750 for 5 days. Hmm. We were only going to be in Madison and the surrounding area so I took a chance. So glad I did - check in was smooth at MKE. The car was a clean and comfortable Chevy. And we came in 200 miles under the limit. I will definitely rent with them again! Simple, hassle-free, true to their word! Thanks Alamo!

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received from Alamo Rent A Car Milwaukee. What should have been a simple and straightforward rental experience turned into one of the most frustrating and stressful situations I have ever encountered. The way this company handled my case was careless, unprofessional, and completely lacking in empathy. Because of this experience, I will be warning friends, family, and colleagues to avoid this company entirely. On the second day of my rental, I had an unfortunate accident involving a deer. While the accident itself was upsetting, the real ordeal began immediately after. I did everything I was supposed to do: I contacted the police, my insurance company, and the rental company's roadside assistance to report the incident and request support. I was told a tow truck would be sent, but after waiting alone in the cold for two hours late at night, no one ever arrived. During that call, the rental company reassured me that I didn't need to worry. They said the car would be picked up and that I should make my way to the branch to receive a replacement vehicle. Since I was approximately an hour away, I arranged a ride to get there. When I arrived, instead of a smooth process, I was informed that I would not be getting a replacement vehicle and that they couldn't even close my rental agreement because the damaged car wasn't yet in their lot. This was particularly frustrating because roadside assistance -- part of the same company -- had been the one to instruct me to go to the branch in the first place. Because of their disorganization and lack of responsibility, I missed my daughter's competition and had to pay an additional $500 out of pocket for a new rental over two days. To make matters worse, the branch manager, Sarah, didn't even come out to speak to me directly. She sent an employee named David, who only made things more aggravating by trying to charge me even more money. Meanwhile, the damaged car sat in a public parking area for two full days. The police, unlike the rental company, were helpful and reassuring, assuring me that the situation was under control and that Alamo should take care of it. The car was finally towed at 8 p.m. on Monday -- the night before my scheduled departure on Tuesday. Despite my countless calls and attempts to resolve the matter, it wasn't until Thursday that I was finally told I could close my bill. Only then did Sarah make an appearance. This entire ordeal made it painfully clear that customer service is not a priority for this branch. Their lack of communication, empathy, and accountability caused me significant emotional stress, financial burden, and personal loss. I left feeling not just disappointed, but disrespected. This wasn't simply bad service -- it was outright negligence. I will never rent from this company again, and I strongly advise others to think twice before doing so.

Refused to honor my 27 year old husband's valid temporary paper license, even though their website said they accept them. Asked if they could waive the $25/day young driver fee since I am not 25 yet and they refused. Wouldn't honor our Costco price and wanted to charge me an extra $50 for "taxes on fees". Manager was useless and did not care to help. Could not recommend this place LESS. Go to Hertz instead

Great experience renting a car from Alamo at MKE Airport. We loved that you don't have to take a bus to the facility. It's just a short walk from baggage claim. We passed several other rental agencies and none had super long lines; but we were in an out in less than 10 minutes and the people we passed at the other counters when we walked in were still there when we walked out. Everything was quick and efficient and we got our suv for a week in Wisconsin as planned. Friendly, knowledgeable employees made it a pleasure!

I reserved a rental car at Milwaukee airport. I observed counter worker, Gayle wait on a white man and never asked him for a second piece of identification. I was confused when she asked me for a second piece of identification. I said, I did see you ask the gentleman in front of me for one. She said, well the RNC was here and there are a lot of bad people renting cars so we have required Milwaukee residents to provide a second ID. When I asked to see that in writing she said it was a new policy and wasn't in writing. I said how can you enforce something that is not in writing. She said here is my supervisor. Akira, was extremely rude saying loudly that either I can give another form of ID or she would run my driver's license through the DMV. I asked how long does that take. In a rude tone Akira said as long as it takes. My DOB, is 7/27 and my drivers license had expired on that date. I started to have my husband rent the car, but after the discriminatory treatment I received I canceled my reservation and chose to go elsewhere in the airport. The rental company we used never asked for any additional information and documents. When I called Alamo customer service and talked to Lisa, she was rude saying they make laws and policies every day, totally diminishing my complaint. After seeing how based on her comments and tone, she supported the racist acts and treatment of Gayle and Lisa, I chose to share my experience. calling Alamo's racist practices out call! Enough!

I rented a car through Travelocity. After a couple of weeks we decided to stay an extra day. Travelocity could not add a day and told us to add a day when we picked up the car. The lady at the counter in MKE was very helpful. She gave me a price for the extra day and I added on a the price of a tank of gas so I wouldn't have to gas up in an area I wasn't familiar with. I drove the car to Fon du Lac (45 min to hotel) and back to the airport. I drove the car very little while in FDL. When I returned the car, everything checked out and I was told I was paid up to date. When I returned home, I saw that Alamo had charged me $100 more than the price quoted. They sent me the bill and there were so many little charges that I was never informed would be added. I will choose another rental company for my next trip. Beware the hidden charges at Alamo!

The customer service is great. A special mention and kudos to @Alex (she was unbelievable and had exquisite customer service) and @Eric for being so helpful. They were amicable and great to deal with. They made the experience pleasant. I will be returning for future rentals just because of the way they dealt with me. Great job Alamo!

Everything was good until I checked the car back in. I left my sunglasses in the cup holder. I realized it on my flight. I called as soon as I landed, and the lady at the MKE airport wouldn't help me at all. I asked her to ask the guy who checked in my car, and she said she wouldn't. She gave me the number to the Alamo location where they take the cars to wash them. I called as soon as they opened the next day, told the lady what happened and she didn't really want to help me either. Never got my sun glasses back. They were a gift that's why I cared. I know it was my fault, but for them to not even try was what made me write this. I will never use their service again. -David

When I picked my car up in Green Bay the counter person said there was no damage to the car so sign this Auto Condition card without as much as allowing the customer to inspect the car. Upon getting to my car I did an inspection and found severe damage to the quarter panel and returned the car for further inspection by Alamo. Make sure you never leave the airport before you personally inspect the car for damage. RENTER BEWARE

I'm flying back to Wisconsin and booked a car from Alamo at MKE. I purchased my reservation on Kayak.com and it never said anything about a milage allotment. This was never specified until I had already paid and received my confirmation. I then find out that I'm only allowed 300 miles? There's 2 major airports in the entire state of Wisconsin??? It's a scam. I spoke with Don, the manager at the MKE location and he said he would rather lose my business then accommodate me with 100 complimentary miles so I can make my trip to the middle of WI. It's not like a rented a cheap car either - It's their premium car. At this point, I'm happy to share my story and take my business to a competitor.
