A bet is a bet, and it's time to pay the piper. In that case, it's Yelper Chadrick J. from Milwaukee. I'm a man of my word. The modern day Milwaukee Brewers was established in 1968 as the Seattle Pilots, which was then moved a year later to Milwaukee by owner Bud Selig, who also became the MLB baseball commissioner in 1998. He held the title of acting commissioner since 1992. Actually, the original Milwaukee Brewers was established in 1901, which then became the present day Baltimore Orioles. So when Selig moved the team to Milwaukee, they became the official Brewers again. They also played in the American League from 1969 to 1997. They were in the West Division from 1968 to 1971, then reassigned to the East Division from 1972 to 1993, then reassigned again to the Central Division from 1994 to 1997. In 1998, they changed conference to the National League staying in the Central Division to present day. The Brewers is appropriately named to honor the city's beer-brewing tradition. One of their original logo was the Beer Barrel Man, which is designed in a cartoonish way with a barrel for chest, a beer tap for his nose and was nicknamed as "Owgust" to embody and honor the whimsical spirit of the minor leagues. The most iconic logo was the glove design with a baseball in the middle, the three finger webbings as the "M" and the thumb stood for the "B" for Milwaukee Brewers. This was their logo from 1978 to 1993 and it was one of the coolest logos in baseball. The owners decided to change it to generic-looking "MB" with two baseball bats crossed in the middle. I know lots of fans were upset about this, and they eventually brought the logo back to some capacity. The Brewer player I remember growing up as a San Francisco Giants fan was Robin Yount. He spent his entire career with the Brewers, which is rare nowadays with free agency and ring-chasing among players. He started as a shortstop and finished as a center fielder from 1973 to 1994. A long and illustrious career that resulted in two AL MVP's (1982, 1989), 3x All Star (1980, 1982, 1989), Gold Glove (1982), 3x Silver Slugger Award (190, 1982, 1989), which culminated to being inducted to Baseball Hall of Fame in 1999. During his 20 year career, he batted an average of .285, had 3, 142 hits, 251 homeruns and 1,406 RBI's. Then when you think of Milwaukee Baseball, there's the legendary Bob Uecker, also known as "Mr. Baseball" given by the late Johnny Carson. He has been the play-by-play announcer for the club since 1971, and is still going strong to this day. He's also played himself in countless movies and his famous line is, "Just a bit outside." He is truly a treasure not just in Baseball, but in sports broadcasting. OK, being a San Francisco Giants fan, I gotta tie this in somehow. Several Giants players were chosen to play in the All Star game in 2002, which was held at Miller Park (the ballpark's original name), and Barry Bonds participated in the HR Derby. This is also the only All Star game that resulted in a tie, which led to the ridiculous rule that the winner of the All Star game gets the home-field advantage in the World Series. Thank goodness they got rid of the rule in 2016. On Friday, May 27, 2011, San Francisco Giants Shortstop Brandon Crawford made his major league debut and hit a grand slam against Brewers pitcher, Shaun Marcum, giving the Giants a 5-4 lead, and eventually winning the game. How's that for your first big league hit? As far as rivalries are concerned, the Giants and Brewers doesn't have must history against each other as they play in a different division. However, there's a mutual respect between ball clubs and Giants play-by-play announcer Duane Kuiper, half of the "Kruk & Kuip" tandem, is from Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and always has a lot of fond stories to tell regarding growing up in the area and the history of baseball. The Milwaukee Brewers are OK. At the time of writing this review, the team's all-time record from 1969 to 2020 is 3,942-4,248 for a .481 win percentage. Among active MLB teams, that ranks 20 out of 30. The Brewers are at the bottom of the middle tier. The Brewers are one of only six MLB teams to have *not* won a World Series. Milwaukee's only made it to the Fall Series once, in 1982 against the St. Louis Cardinals. That World Series went the distance, seven games, with the Brewers having two chances to close the Cards out after winning Game 5 and going up 3-2 in the series. St. Louis had homefield advantage in Games 6 and 7. They routed Milwaukee, 13-1, in Game 6, and closed Milwaukee out, 6-3, in Game 7. The Cards won what would be their ninth World Series championship of 11 in front of a home crowd of about 54,000 at the old Busch Memorial Stadium. In 1982, the Brewers were owned by one-time Commissioner (1992-2015) and now Commissioner Emeritus (2015-present) of Baseball, Bud Selig. The Brewers' 1982 team had some of the best players in franchise history including Rollie Fingers (1981 AL MVP and Cy Young Award Winner), Robin Yount (1982 and 1989 AL MVP), and Pete Vuckovich (1982 AL Cy Young Award Winner). Fingers and Yount are in the Baseball Hall of Fame as are Paul Molitor and Don Sutton, who were also on that '82 team. In addition, three-time Silver Slugger Award Winner (1980-82) Cecil Cooper was on the team. No wonder they almost won the World Series that year. To this day, a bunch of those guys still hold Milwaukee team records: Molitor in single-season runs (136) and career stolen bases (412), Cooper in single-season hits (219), and Yount in career RBIs (1,406), career hits (3,142), and career runs (1,632). In the 21st century, a two-time All-American from the University of Miami, Ryan Braun, made his mark with the Brewers. Braun spent 14 years in Milwaukee. During that span, he was named NL Rookie of the Year (2007), NL MVP (2011), and was a six-time All-Star. He led the Brewers to five postseason appearances, making it as far as the NLCS twice: In 2011, Milwaukee lost to St. Louis, 4-2, and in 2018, Milwaukee lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-3. The Brewers are currently riding a streak of three-straight playoff appearances. Hopefully, they can keep that momentum going in 2021. Note: The Brewers switched from the American League to the National League in 1998, hence both the AL and NL mentions above.

Milwauke has a great indoor ball park that offers several entertainment options besides baseball. There is a slide in center field that the mascot can slide from the top deck to the one below it. There is a lot of natural lighting offered across the top decks and there is rock wall in right field. I was able to get seats behind home plate, about 7 rows up, for less than $60. Can't go wrong when you can get that close for a decent price. I would definitely come back to this stadium if I ever find myself in Milwaukee again.

Take me out... ... to the ball game. Its a tough year without Prince Fielder and now the latest news Peralta who was doing a fine job, is now having hamstring problems, Corey Hart will have surgery to repair torn ligaments in Left knee. which will keep him out for the rest of the year. Braun with thumb contusion, and Gomez with L shoulder strain. this would explain our current standings. The club is more than players. it's the stadium, the front office the coaching staff, the skills the weather the competition and conditioning and training. not to forget the fans and the fun. The current team is nothing like the 1982 brewers with the greatness of 4 Hall of fame winner Rollie F, Yount, Molitor. Sutton. They didn't depend on 1-2 stars. GO BREW CREW! Today, I got our season ticket renewal form. Prices went up $120 per person for the 9 pack....so almost $250 total. Am I going to renew in this terrible economy? Without Prince Fielder? HELL YES! The owners care, the team is motivated and the fans are the greatest in the MLB. My husband claims I'm not qualified to review, as I'm not a crazy stats spouting freak (like he is) but I don't hear him complaining when I pay the bill. Snap!

What I know of the Brewers I remember from when I was a Yankees fan and my favorite player was Reggie Jackson. Needless to say, that was a whole lot of time ago and back when the Brewers played in the American league. Not so much now. So here I am in Brew City and on the way from the hotel to the customer's office, I asked the cabbie "What's that funny looking building?" and he says it's Miller Park. Lo and behold, I check the Internets and the Rangers are in town and the tickets are CHEAP! Nice park (I'll review later since this is about the Brewers). Hey, they're not the worst team in Major League Baseball. Lately, that's the team that I follow these days. The Florida Marlins. Oh, well. You can't win them all. Or many of them. Or really, more than one or two. Go Brewers!

Great start to the year! So good I'm buying tickets!!! Have been a big fan ever since the good old days of Yount, Gantner and Molitor. Hard to return to those days in today's big market vs. small market challenges. Great respect to ownership for keeping us competitive and the games enjoyable. A bit disappointed.. Tried to purchase some tickets the other day and Brewer website said they had standing room only. 10 minutes ago I could of bought tickets off their website with no problem after hearing about it at a sports bar in Brookfield. Only thing that makes sense to me is the Brewers were holding back the seats with expectation they were going to make big money off them selling them to Cub/Brewer fans off of Stubhub. After the Cubs came up short now all of the sudden they have tickets available. I'm a Brewer fan but geez... I hope I'm wrong... Scalping your own teams tickets on Stubhub anonymously sounds ludicrous but today nothing would surprise me.
