Since my tween daughter is a big-time penguin nerd, we made the pilgrimage to the IMAX Theatre to view "Penguin 3D" during a recent trip to Milwaukee. Who among us can resist the lure of ginormous penguins projected onto a six-story, wraparound screen? I strongly recommend this IMAX dome for scenic documentaries as it offers patron a breathtaking experience. The theatre is clean and well maintained. It is a steep climb up the stairs to your seats, but precipitous incline means no staring at the back of the head of the person in front of you. The seats are spacious and there is legroom a plenty. There are a bunch of previews of upcoming documentaries before the main feature - thankfully these previews are far less obnoxious those that blast your senses at your suburban multiplex. Parking near the museum is always a challenge, so factor that in when planning your trip to this location. Pro-tip: Purchasing movie tickets at this IMAX scores you a discount on your admission to the adjoining Milwaukee Public Museum.

We would have loved to have seen this place and even paid $10 to park across the street because your website said you were OPEN but you were not ... seems as though many places don't care anymore to keep things updated - lesson learned ... will call ahead next time

We originally "went" to this theater for the Cousteau underwater adventure film but the most impressive/interesting presentation occurred just before the Cousteau film. It was called "Wisconsin Star Gazing" and it displayed the night sky and a "real person" explained all of the various stars/planets and constellations in the sky - and, even responded to audience questions. Incredible for youngsters to see/view/experience.

Just finished Romancing the Stars at the Daniel M Soref Planetarium at the MPM. How much awesomeness did they fit into 40 minutes? A whole hell of a lot! It was so much fun being surrounded by a beautiful clear night sky full of stars. Very romantic. We felt like kids again. The emcee was entertaining and slightly cheesy. They gave out prizes for music trivia (think star related). The women got a box of chocolates and a long stemmed red rose. It was well worth the $29 (that included parking). Will definitely be going back to see an IMAX movie there.

Recently saw the cleopatra show at Imax. Wow! Imax theaters are always the best and funnest place to see any movie. Most comfortable seats and good atmosphere. I will gladly pay an extra few dollars to go here!
