Lovely room on 2nd floor. Had to lug my suitcase- not a big deal for me. But it might be for some.. Very comfortable bed. Nice pillows and linens. Comfortable layout of the room. Very nice amenities. Parking- great! Got a group room rate- otherwise might be too pricey for me. Floors were crazy squeaky. I felt for the people below me. Cafe- nice. Slow service at times

This hotel is 99 years old, the windows, stairs, floors, woodworks; etc are original and very well maintained; it was beautiful and cleaned. We went there for breakfast; the bacons were thick, crispy; the eggs were fluffy and delicious; the coffee was perfect! I didn't care for the pancakes because it was not as fluffy as I like and dense in the center.

This hotel is extremely cute and boutique like. We were very happy with our check-in process and the layout, cleanliness, and overall look of our room. The hotel staff are amazing. They were friendly, accommodating, and answered my questions with a genuine smile. The hotel is about one block away from the light rail train stop at Cathedral Park, 10 to 15 minute walk to the Art Museum, and a 20 minute walk to the German restaurants and sports arena where the Bucks play. Great location, great hotel!

PROS: This place has very nice design and is very picturesque. Your room key is literally a set of brass keys which adds to the overall throwback experience. Everything is old school but works well. Stayed here for NM ANNUAL MEETING and was pleased with my choice. It helped that Lime scooters are available - the trip to FISERV on a lime from here is fun and easy. The staff are nice and accommodating. I enjoyed my time there although there were some drawbacks. CONS: room 186 is right next to the dumpsters and stairs which means your hear EVERTHING. Trying to nap between GENERAL SESSION and breakout sessions can be a challenging since staff are hustling and bustling (cleaning staff didn't care about the noises they made). It is an OLD hotel so coming in with the expectation that nothing is modern, including insulation, will help you to come in with the right expectation. I would definitely stay here except insist on not being close to the stairwell or cleaning closet. The last thing that was weird was at around 10:00am on my day to checkout, I could hear the cleaning crew trying to enter my room even though I had the privacy door tag hung outside and checkout isn't until 11:00am....I let the front desk know but I'm curious is that has happened to anyone else. Seems odd.

The hotel itself was cute. Liked a lot of the little amenities - coffee pods, scent of shampoo/conditioner, etc. However, the vending machines are in the basement with the laundry so that was a little odd. They don't have a front parking space/reception area for check in so that was tough with traffic/lack of parking. We received inconsistent messaging on pricing for some of the add-on costs they administer. First, we weren't told about any early check in cost. Then, it was $30. Then, it became $25. Also, parking on-site is $15 per car/per room a day. It seemed they just kept making up figures to make more money off your stay. When we checked out, we were told we would just be charged the parking and room rate. But, when we received our belated bill (over a week later), it included a random charge meant as the early check in charge (~$22). Make up your mind and make it clear to customers. The misrepresentations were tough to keep up with. Not my favorite stay downtown.

Came here with my son and Chelsey after the Thanksgiving holiday for brunch. We were seated quickly, this hotel is underrated . The food was great we had a superb brunch date .The scenery puts you in the holiday spirit. Thank you to The Plaza Hotel for making the time spent with my loved ones memorable.

In A Nutshell: -The Plaza Hotel is a super nice place to stay while you are in MKE. -You can tell there is a lot of history in this building, it has the old bones, but the rooms are updated to modern amenities. -I rented a nice studio apartment, which had a comfortable king size bed, a full kitchen w/ stove, fridge, utensils, pot/pan, microwave. -There was a small bar w/ barstools to eat off of, plus a couple chairs to sit. -The bathroom was adequate. -I really like the private feel of staying here w/ separate rear building entrance/exit to the parking lot. -There are also coin-operated laundry machines which are always convenient. -The restaurant inside the hotel is very retro & the food is really good (i.e. their breakfast & burgers). -I also like the location of this hotel b/c there is the Metro Market grocery store right across the street to grab food & beverages. -The neighborhood is called Lower East Side & it's very quiet. -It's walking distance to a lot of places. Overall, if you decide to book a stay here, I highly suggest you book out as far in advance as possible b/c this place is very popular with travelers.

We stayed at the The Plaza while in town for a wedding and were blown away by our experience. It is an incredible boutique hotel centrally located in downtown Milwaukee. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with charm, comfort, and impeccable service. The front desk is staffed 24/7, so you never feel abandoned. The Plaza Cafe is a must-do, as well. The food is fantastic and the staff is wonderful (sit outside in the courtyard, if weather allows). The guest rooms are clean, comfortable, and include awesome amenities, like full kitchens and spacious modern bathrooms. We will definitely stay at the Plaza during our next visit to Milwaukee!

This hotel is very unique and is divided into 4 sections. The staff was very kind and friendly. The room was extremely clean and renovated. Nice features, such as, kitchen with stainless steel appliances, rain shower head, quiet bathroom fan, super comfortable king size bed, and other cute details in our room. It feels very nostalgic because they provide real keys and have art deco lighting features in the hallways. All the rooms are different so it's a surprise when you enter. The only downside was the noise level. I was awakened by a door slamming. Some hotel guests on our floor were just not considerate. We were able to park in the lot behind the hotel for an additional fee. There's a small grocery store, a liquor store, and a Subway restaurant nearby. The grocery store had many options for meals that could be heated up in the oven, stovetop, or microwave. I really liked the full size refrigerator and breakfast bar. Fair price for a unique experience near Lake Michigan!

Nice old school hotel with plenty of charm in the heart of Milwaukee. We stayed here in July, so it was right in the peak season for festivals and outdoor activities int he downtown Milwaukee area. Check-in was a breeze, and the room was easily accessible. One downside was that there is no elevator because it is an older building. That is part of the charm, but also part of the inconvenience when you have a lot of things to move up to the room. The room was nice, clean, and large. it was cooled by a window AC. The bathrooms were pretty vintage, so there was nothing overly fancy about them. Being that I like the feel of older architecture, I was okay with it. Getting around the city from this location is fairly easy. There are lots of places to walk to, or for only a couple bucks you an Uber right to downtown where there are a bunch of bars and restaurants. If you plan on dining in at the hotel, they have an indoor and outdoor eating area. There is a front indoor cafe-style area. The back area is much more like a formal restaurant. Neither location is very large, but they are adequate and the service was efficient. If you want a nice, vintage apartment-style hotel room with Milwaukee charm, check out the Plaza.
