We came to the planetarium for a "Salsa Under the Starts" event which we learned about via the Planetarium e-newsletter. It was a free event open to the public. Programming at the Planetarium tends to be great for people of all ages including children. The event was well attended, and two free planetarium shows were offered. The stargazing show was about 30 mins and very informative. We both learned something new about the night sky and left excited to try to spot some new constellations on our next camping trip up north. After the stargazing show, we were able to head up to the rooftop of the Planetarium to check out Jupiter and Saturn on the mega-telescope. Seeing the planets was a treat and worth the wait - there were a lot of students there for extra credit, so we had to wait maybe 30 mins to be able to scope out both planets. There is a suggested donation of $5 when you visit and they also ask for you to "sign-in" so they can track where visitors come in from, etc. It was a worthwhile visit. Something off the beaten path, low-key and educational.

A gem on campus and in Milwaukee. Check for AstroBreaks some Wednesdays, 12:15-12:45. Friday shows are $4 and they are quite popular. A perfect learning and fun experience. Come with friends, family, a date or just yourself.

This was smaller than I thought but very cool looking inside. The seats were nice and comfy and I thoroughly enjoyed the stargazing. I do now realize that I will never survive if I have to use the stars as reference points. I needed to use Siri to give me directions to the Planetarium and I still got lost. The stars sure were beautiful though and make we want to travel to Alaska so I can see the Northern Lights. I did find a few contellations though and thought the presentatin was fun and informative.

The Planetarium is beyond cool...it is one of Milwaukee's hidden gems. Always educational, always fun, and great for children and adults. We see every new show at least once. Strongly recommended!

Shows are only $2. I really think $2 for an hour of learning and fun really can't be beat. Shows are really well done. I find that the projection system really translates well to being able to view and find stars and constellations on your own outside. Also, they sometimes have noon-time short shows for free, so if you're in the UWM neighborhood, you could check out a quick show. It's really great.

Went here last night for the first time! The Planetarium is a cute small domed shaped room where they have shows. There's a show every month or two from my understanding. This is a great place for a date night or if you have friends/relatives in town and of course children. I'd also advise to get there early to get good seats! It's only $4 and worth it! The show was entertaining and educational! The seats also recline a bit so you can watch the show which is played on the ceiling portion of the room. The staff was also professional and friendly! The second show was sold out and the staff were nice enough to add an additional show. If that's not great customer service, I don't know what is!
