Returned today after a few disappointing visits prior, as a friend assured us the food had changed. They were right! The new menu is awesome and the food quality and service is through the roof great. We feel like we got the original Bel Aire of many years ago, back again. And the patio will be a great draw back this summer. Highly recommend!

For a Monday early dinner, before heading back home, BelAir Cantina gives the midwest some decent tacos! To start, we ordered chips & salsa with the most fresh, crunchy tortillas & 3 tasty salsas- brown (smoky), green (limey), & orange that reminded me of Filipino flavors lol. For entrée, we ordered the 3 taco platter- mixture of fried tilapia, carne asada, carnitas, & al pastor tacos on soft corn tortillas with fluffy rice & black beans, but wish only 1 tortilla was used because it dried out. Our server was nice & felt like summertime inside with the beach decor & colorful banners...bet it gets real busy here during Summerfest.

Went to Bel Air on a Monday night. There were a bunch of seats available. We sat at the bar. One staff member got us waters and ask if we wanted something. We got chips. After more than a polite amount of waiting we asked who to order from. A different person came and was very attentive. I asked for the chicken bowl but they gave me the shrimp bowl. I didn't say anything because I was debating between the two and hungry. It was pretty good but very mayo saucey. Slightly exceeded expectations. The other two orders were good and what was ordered. They had a decent amount of beers. I'm interested to try the patio if I go again.

I was really excited to try BelAir Cantina. We came on a Friday night and were seated right away. They had a big space and it was kinda empty. We started with chips and salsa and the chips were very fresh. The salsa was good but not very spicy. We got our meal pretty quick so no complaints there. I was kinda disappointed in the tacos the tilapia taco was the most bland taco I think I have ever had. The only reason it even slightly tasted good was because of the avocado salsa. The carne asada was just as lack luster. Sadly barely any flavor. I would probably only come here for drinks and chips and leave it at that.

Service... it took 30 minutes for a waiter to show up at our table...smh... 20 minutes to get our guacamole and chips and 30 more minutes for our meal... terrible service... The waiter was terrible... we had to pour our own water...thank God the water was on the ledge near by... Spicy Chicken Burrito was bland with no spice

I ordered the French dip taco and it was lackluster on flavor, downright boring. The Korean taco was better, but not outstanding. I had a side of pinto beans that tasted like they came out of a can with bacon added. Maybe my being from California, that has an amazing number of taquerias, has made me a taco snob. Along with the food, the wait time from order to service seemed too long considering they were not busy. Last thing, don't expect to have a quiet conversation. Three stars review is generous.

Good food for a good price! I went on Taco Thursday and got a $3 soy chorizo, $3 Z-shrimp, and around $5 fried avocado and bacon taco. The soy chorizo was not for me, but a great alternative to meat. The Z-shrimp was refreshing. The fried avocado was delicious and I got two big pieces! I was also very happy to see that the rice and beans were free with an order of three tacos. The chips and three salsas are perfect for a group with different spice preferences! The waitress reccommended what most people order amd checked in a good amount. It was comfortable area for a casual hang!

We went to BelAir for a friends new job to celebrate and overall the service was fine with the bartender. The drink I had was good however, when I asked for an extra shot, the bartender did not let me order it. However! Our food was freezing cold. We sent it back and we were given cold food AGAIN. At that point we just decided to take it and finish up. The manager was saying our food was cold because it's cold outside. Pretty disappointing because I have had good food at belair before. We will never be coming back to this establishment.

This was restaurant of the week and a bookmark since they opened and today I finally got around to trying them out. The place doesn't look like a Mexican restaurant because it's hipster/funky from the mural on the outside wall and the decor. Service was good because the packers were on and the place was empty. It's multi level with several very different seating arrangements from small table, huge tables. Upper booths, bar area and big window wrap around hi booths. I started with a raspberry margarita which wasn't too sweet, not overpowered by alcohol and a small raspberry flavor. The menu is small with vegan options, meat eater options, drinks etc. I had the 3 taco that's comes with free beans and rice, cleverly worded because it ends up being around what a 3 taco dinner that comes with beans and rice on average is anyway. No free chips and salsa but it was reasonably priced at $2.01 with three salsas and on hind sight the dinner would be more than I can eat but I should have tried them. I ordered the carne Asada, chorizo and carnitas tacos with rice and beans. My server asked If I wanted the fake protein chorizo or house made so I laughed and I said I just ordered beef and pork so no I want the real pork chorizo. My food came quick and it had a nice presentation. The meat looked generous on the tacos so I tasted them by themselves before eating the tacos and I thought they were nicely seasoned but no big palette flavors like garlic or spices and basically bland so the fresh toppings really helped. Side note is that all the meats were on the dry side and chunky. The house chorizo with potatoes was sad because the potatoes/taste didn't come through and it looked like Al pastor pork chunks. The beans were dark and thick, seasoned nicely but no big bean flavors like some places. The rice was cooked perfectly al dente, seasoned nicely with carrots and peas with a plantain chunk on top. My final thought is this that is Tex Mex style for hipster Wauwatosa and not authentic style Mexican food which is ok that I liked but it's not 20th in Lincoln Ave/ national Ave but it's still good for what it is.

It's been a while since I've been to Bel Air! I switched up my normal Bel Air taco trio and tried the Birria Taco and it did not disappoint! Went at a busy time but the wait was much shorter than quoted and the service all evening was great.
