I am from Taiwan. The route from ''Point de vue Fa'anui Bay'' to here is not very obvious, and even some rocks are not easy to climb. Pay attention to your route to avoid getting lost.

What a breath-taking mountain. The rock formations are truly stunning and having now been around the lagoon twice I am also beginning to appreciate how different it looks at different angles. All perspectives quite unique even though looking at the same mountain. On the Eastern side approx 2/3 of the way up a cave can be seen. Apparently it (the cave) takes about 3 hours to hike up to, which would be quite a walk! I doubt travellers can get to the top without some serious rock climbing gear and expertise and it may not even be allowed if it is a sacred site. Otemanu is what makes Bora Bora unique. We saw the other sides of the mountain while taking the island tour and it continues to mesmerize from different angles. It is not an easy or recommended climb because the lava rock crumbles and if you do this you need to book the trip with a professional guide. You can hike three hours up and back to get to this small cave beneath the top of the mount.
