We had so much fun fishing aboard the Kaivea! The crew was friendly, professional and knew how to put us on the fish. Definitely a bucket list trip in a bucket list destination, and would recommend to anyone looking to get out on the water for a day of fun and tight lines!

My husband and I had an AMAZING experience!

They picked us up for a private charter at the St. Regis dock which made it super easy to just walk over from our bungalow.

When we went out, our guide gave us a really thorough explanation of the types of fish we were looking for, the boat, the poles, bait, and the different equipment. I am not a fisherman, so I was a little nervous, but felt really comfortable.

I also get sea sick easily, but our guide and captain checked on me frequently and when I was a little woozy, they sat me in the shade and gave me cold water and then I felt better.

We caught two fish! When the first one bit, our guide helped me get situated and helped me reel it in. Just a little while later, we got another bite and my husband reeled one in. They knew we wanted a picture and offered right when we got the second.

We talked to the crew the entire time, and learned a lot about the islands, their experiences, the fish we caught, etc, which was one of our favorite parts. They also spoke highly about the company owners, which made me feel really good knowing that they enjoyed their jobs and felt appreciated.

When we finished up for the day, they took us back to the dock where the St. Regis staff were waiting. They filleted the fish right in front of us, packaged it, and the St. Regis staff asked how we wanted it cooked so we ended up having our own tasting menu. They made the most amazing sashimi Wahoo and grilled Mahi Mahi. Our crew gave us PLENTY, so much that I couldn’t eat half of my sides.

Overall, it couldn’t have been a more surreal honeymoon experience, even as someone who doesn’t typically fish. Also - we booked a private tour because I was worried I would get sick and ruin another couple’s day, and the private ended up being well worth it!!

Incredible experience! Super recommended!

I’m a passionate fisherman from Italy, and I came to Bora Bora for my honeymoon.

I wanted so bad to have a “big-game” fishing experience-and that’s exactly what Bora Bora Fishing Charters gave me.

The charter company was recommended to me by locals, and Carter-the boss- helped organize everything via WhatsApp.

I then went fishing for 8 hours, and we managed to hook and onboard a 50/60 kilos yellowfin tuna (with a 35 minutes fight-incredible!), a giant skipjack tuna (around 7/8 kilos) and a 3/4 kilos rainbow fish (see pictures below).

The fun thing is that we caught the big tune a 10.25, so even the half-day fishing experience would have been positive.

The captain Tau and crew member and fisherman Anapa were amazing and made the whole experience even better.

We also saw a whale and dolphins!!

Just go with them - highly recommended 💪

Amazing fishing trip with Tauarii here in Bora Bora! We have been on a few other deep sea fishing trips around the world, but this was by far the best! This private trip was the most eventful with the best catches and beautiful views. My wife and I each caught two good size tuna with a shark getting the 1st bite out of OUR dinner!

Highly recommend adding this adventure to your relaxing Bora Bora vacation!!

Mahea and Arii took us out for a great day trip to Taha'a.  Local guys know it all.  Information on French Polynesia and the neighboring islands.  The shore visits were all great!  Our guides knew everyone!  Free gifts from all the manufacturers and farmers!  Didn't catch any fish, but we chased a bunch.  The other boat got 4 wahoo while fishing the full day.  Best closing was our guides hand-hunting octopus, scallops, and coconuts that our resort cooked up for dinner!  Doesn't get any fresher than that!
