Every single day I Drive on the bridge. It’s very fun driving fast sometimes. It’s 80km speed. Looks like a ARCHED DESIGN. It’s a 8-lane motorway. Sometimes it’s very windy so be careful.  Tourist attractions. Can see Auckland city from the bridge. Night time the lighting looks so beautiful. It has moveable barriers lane, the machine adjust lanes for peak morning and afternoon flows. Sometimes big traffic..

Wow, what an amazing place, area, and environment that I had the true privilege to fly over alongside our graceful and humble supreme president Helen Clark in a beautiful vintage Douglas A4 Skyhawk. The amazing structure shocks me at how these 13th century workers built it over such treacherous waters!!!

Nice bridge & hard to fault it as a tourist .
I drove across the expanse in both directions and the Saturday flow of traffic was quite relaxed in contrast to the Sydney harbour bridge . No unexpected merge lanes or trains , just a great bridge with awesome views of Auckland Harbour & beyond .  The engineering behind the bridge is quite remarkable considering there are two actual bridges with 43m of clearance below deck . The complete span across the bridge is just over one kilometre & the bridge was commissioned on the 30th of May 1959.

Opening of the bridge marked the end of the careers of all the vekular ferries and most of the passenger steam ferries, probably for the better though as no one would want to have to  travel on a car ferry everytime the wanted to get across the harbour !!!!

This bridge is fine. It helps cars cross the water. BUT; it doesn't help enough cars. It should help more cars. The exposed metal is cool. We like to see it. Engineering is nice. The view of the city is very very nice otherwise this review would be a resounding 2 stars.
