Enjoyed our visit today in January. Beautiful weather, definitely needed a hat and sunscreen. Easy parking at lot, then a short concreted wide path, most of the way, a short dip through shaded bush to the timber viewing platforms. Ocean view was gorgeous. Interesting to see so many fluffy baby gannets being looked after by their mums. Few birds sitting on nests. Strong smell of guano, but not unbearable.   Worthwhile trip about 1hr 10mins from South

Beautiful spot to see Gannets in there natural habitat.. they’ve chosen this spot since it’s easy for them to take off and land to their nesting site. It’s about a 50 min drive from Auckland, so definitely worth a visit. They are very interesting!

Excellent location to see some wildlife. Best from August - March before they head back to sea. Don't feed the birds and stay on path. Plenty of parking space and easy 5-10 minute walk to lookout.

Amazing place! You can see so many Gannets here enjoying their lives. If you plan to go here, please go with sunset. It's the best view. You will see all the birds returning to their nests and seeing the Gannets meet eachother is so fun to watch.
