Everything from the antipasto to the homemade pastas was spot on—cooked perfectly al dente. The pastas were definitely the highlight of the night. I might have been a little too ambitious with my order because my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach!

Beautiful fresh Italian cuisine prepared to perfection. Stunningly fresh ingredients and hand made pastas. The ever so light lemon hit in the saffron pasta was stunning and subtle. This is a must visit in BA.

Back at La Alacena, with my last visit dated in 2022. This year they were listed on the Michelin Bib Gourmand, and i was excited to experience the changes.

We ordered these pastas to share, and these are ranked in order of preference:

1) Garganelli al Ragú Bianco is still the best pasta so far (Pork ragú / Cream / Truffle oil / Pine Mushrooms)
2) Veal Ravioli (Homemade paté cream / Caramelised Fennel / Sage / Aceto di Modena)
3) Spaghetti al Sugo Nero di Seppia after (Cuttlefish / Cuttlefish ink / Peperoncino)
4) Tonnarelli Alla Carbonara (Farm eggs / Guanciale / Parmesano)

All were great, but the standouts to me were (1) and (2). Not to forget the fantastic desserts too - tiramisu and profiteroles. All in all, they are deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand for sure. Kudos to the team!

Absolutely incredible food. Everything we had was exquisite. The pasta was so fresh. We didn’t have reservation and were able to wait for a table, the wait was definitely worth it. Highly recommend visiting this restaurant!
