The best steakhouse in Argentina. The meat was like a marshmallow. The empanadas were super-tasty. The wine cellar holds 15000 bottles of Argentinian wines including the very old ones. Highly recommended. Need to book a table very very early. Recommend to arrive 15 minutes before to have a glass of sparkling standing in the line to enter.

Service was excellent. We felt well taken care of from start to finish. The steak was exceptional and prepared just to our liking. Fried provolone is a must try. Everything was delicious, including the wines we tried. Overall, Don Julio is well worth the recognition and popularity it has received!

OVERRATED. I don’t understand how this restaurant is #10 in the world AND has a Michelin star.

From a service, ambiance and decor standpoint, okay, yes, they excel in that!

Food is where I am disappointed. I still had a decent meal, but it wasn’t mind-blowing and especially given the premium I am paying to eat there. I’ve eaten at far better places that have no Michelin star or World’s Best ranking.

While I appreciate that they give us a small empanada to start, honestly it is mediocre at best and forgettable. The bread, chimichurri and salsa criolla were great though.

The chorizo was flavorful, but I’ve had better quality AND flavor in Buenos Aires for 1/4 the price. AR$15,000 for ONE chorizo sausage.

The beet salad was really fantastic, and it was served like carpaccio, sliced very thin.

But let’s be real, I came for the meat. The steak? I ordered a ribeye medium rare and while the cap was great, the Don Julio knife on the table was working extra hard to cut through the eye of the ribeye. The eye was not tender. Yes, it was juicy and seasoned well, but it was like an overcooked pork chop. It definitely required some heavy chewing on my part.

Overall, Don Julio is not a place I would recommend to friends. I wouldn’t be surprised if they lose their Top10 standing next year. What a disappointing waste of money. I can think of many other places with better quality steak.

Fell short of our expectations especially given all the hype and great recommendations from friends about the steaks here.  We ordered a salad and medium rare ribeye steak to share.

The good: service was good. Very quick and you even get a glass as bubbly as you wait in a massive line to be seated (even with a reservation!). The complimentary mini empanada - very delicious! The salad - looks great and tastes great with all those flowers.

The not so great: Our Ribeye steak was a chewy and had some gristle. It was also under seasoned and tasted quite bland. Given we travelled a very long distance specifically to get to BA to try this famed steakhouse, we were most disappointed.  Atmosphere was very lovely with the high ceilings and rustic feel inside. However, I’ve taken away 1 star because we were placed on a bench seat that felt makeshift (as if they were trying to squeeze in more tables). My seat looked like a stool put between 2 benches and had a gap of about 4 inches on one side. I spent dinner squeezed to the left of the table to avoid the discomfort of sitting on the gap.

The tenderloin tasted great - juicy, smoky from the BBQ! We ordered medium rare and one of them was more medium, while the medium rare one was not evenly cooked. Prices for sides are completely over the top for what it is: Grilled artichokes came cold, and the 10$ the salad consisted only of some green leaves and flowers on top. Therefore only 3/5 stars for food since it doesn’t match the prices.

Service is excellent, they prioritized our order as we had to leave for the airport earlier. The inside and outside seating area are well maintained and comfortable, bathrooms squeaky clean.
