FOREIGNERS PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. We went here because casa black Rio was unfortunately closed. I don’t know what was wrong with people but no one was dancing just standing there recording. The music was decent if you like electronic but it was odd to hear the music and see no one dancing. The staff and people around my group kept bumping into us. EVERYWHERE WE MOVED ON THE DANCE FLOOR WAS TREATED LIKE A PATHWAY WHICH WAS VERY WEIRD. And yes they saw me because I was taller than 95% of the people there. We literally left because these people kept interrupting our dancing every 10 seconds. It was like they were doing it on purpose to try and intimidate us? Or because they were mad that we were enjoying ourselves, I literally cannot tell you the reason but something was off. This has never happened to me at a club ever. This was an unfortunate way to end my trip to Rio, but I’m not surprised something like this would happen at this point.

First of all, it was a very expensive entry (R$170 for women, I think R$ 200 for men). Secondly, the music was horrible when we first arrived there. I don’t know who was DJing but they were stuck in 2016 America with the songs they put on. 🤣🤣🤣 However, it did get better after midnight, they started playing funk and brought out artists and dancers. 😻 Definitely not the most live group though. I would go somewhere else if you are looking to dance.

I strongly do not recommend this place for foreigners. The staff here is very rude. They took my cocktail receipt and just left. I couldn’t understand anything for 15 minutes and had to prove that I had paid for it. Terrible service

P.S.: I would also like to add that this is the most boring place I’ve been to in the last 10 years. The music is terrible, the design looks like it’s from 2010, and it’s outrageously expensive. Choose other places instead

An unenjoyable venue. The only time the crowd was lively was when the DJ was playing horrendous music. The rapturous reception for the second Wonderwall remix of the night being a particular low point. There's so much amazing Brazilian music, Funk, MPB, Samba, Pagode and Bossa Nova but the DJ played precisely none of it, opting for a never ending stream of crap high energy remixes of 2010s pop tunes instead.

The Baile Funk live set was great and really high energy, but the crowd was nowhere to be seen apart from the guy who bumped into my girlfriend and then attempted to fight both of us. If you like watching desperate gringos trying to hit on 16 year old Brazilian girls who are in it for the free drinks then go ahead, otherwise avoid at all costs (and believe me, with these ticket prices there will be costs).

If you’ve read the reviews then expect the staff to be rude lol I did and once you pass that everything else is good. The location is great and the place is big and very nice. It is expensive for Rio but not internationally. There’s plenty of bars and staff so you can order a drink. I didn’t try the food so no comment. The sound system is great and alot of people go there so overall it is the best party place i’ve found in Rio so far. Entrance was 240r for two people fyi.

I love this place. Their restaurant is cute (through a pane of glass) and their sesame crusted fish was amazing. Thank you Rio airport and kind United Airlines man for buying us dinner from here!

Once you pass through security for an international flight, there's a strong chance you will pass Palaphita. The restaurant is wooden themed and tries to take a traditional forest approach to its theme. The food is on point and well recommended as you wait for your next flight! Taste: 4/5 Service: 4/5 (speaks English here) Value for money: 4/5 Ambiance: 3/5 We had: 1) Pala (the one with tomatoes and cheese): tasted like a pizza sandwich! 2) Pala Burger: Not bad! The hamburger meat is kind of like a Japanese hamburg not like an American one 3) Da Guia: Extremely salty. Would only recommend it if you eat it with a sweet food to balance it out. Rather acidic 4) Açai Superfood bowl: Açai is great in Brazil and this bowl is no different! All in all, the food is not bad and if generally can't go wrong here!

As I waited in GIG for my return flight from Rio, I wanted to have Brazilian food one last time. Palaphita seemed like a great choice, it had fun tables and decor and a short, but promising menu. The "Brazilian fish" dish seemed like just what I wanted. The description of fish in coconut milk sounded kind of like moqueca (my favorite Brazilian dish. When the dish came out it looked great, I was excited. The first bite was disappointing and I began to try to find the flavor, but failed miserably. I couldn't understand how there was no flavor of spices or fish. I didn't there was such a thing as too much coconut milk, but this dish proved me wrong. The sauce of the fish was very heavy in coconut milk and the rice was wet with coconut milk. I guess I should've just accepted that my indulgence of delicious Brazilian food ended before I got to the airport. Most of the other people around (who were Brazilian) ordered the steak dish and seemed happy. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing or maybe I just expected too much at the airport.
