I'm all about castles and forts, and this one met the bar! It's easily accessible from either of the main beaches in Rio right on the corner of both. The entry price is beyond cheap, and the fort itself offers a fantastic bit of history and is accessible allowing you to see a good chunk both inside and on top. Highly recommend if you're in Rio!

Nice museum, everything is in Portuguese but you can translate it with google translate picture.
Restaurant is good, great view over Copacabana.

Incredible views of Copacabana, Christ the Redeemer and Sugar Loaf. Lots of monkeys on the route up too! Highly recommend visiting for 10 R$

An absolute treat. If you want to eat at the cafeteria colombo, make sure you arrive at least 30-40 min before the fort opens. But there are also other options.

Beautiful Place, have to pay in cash 10 Reais, they wont accept any debit or credit, just cash. The place is so beautiful, especially when you go there before sunset. We just enjoyed the view from there, we are not able to see the museum or to try the food there because theres too much people waiting in line.
