Chose the place while strolling down the street
Thought of having few drinks and something to bite, opted for open tables. Service was prompt and drinks were served cold
But the food was below average.
Ordered Garlic beef steak but couldn't find any taste or flavor of same. It was just bland don't think it was marinated at all. Total disappointment

And restroom was like a metal can just like in trains

Came here based on a recommendation from a friend and my family and I were very happy with the good. Sandwiches are very big and feeling, potatoe salad wasn’t too bad and the sausage was very good. Also ordered cheese fries that were very good. Service was very good and we had a very friendly waiter who took his time with us as we didn’t speak Portuguese.

Cervantes was once a legend for late night meals. The waiters used to dress in old school uniforms — and were very efficient (though also not particularly talkative).

What I most loved was the simple, impeccable food and chief among the best dishes on the menu was Cervantes’ signature sandwich: thickly sliced roast beef, pate and grilled caramelised pineapple.

This evening I returned to Cervantes after many years and my first impression was how shabby the place looked. It was no longer charming but just cheap — most notably the hideous ceiling and faux brick walls.

Anyway, I ordered the roast beef sandwich and asked the waiter three times (on my translator) if the pineapple was grilled. Each time he gave me the thumbs up sign signifying yes.

However, what arrived was a poor version of the original sandwich with wet, sloppy pineapple in the middle. I never send things back but this time, frustrated that I had asked three times about the sandwich, I did.

A long time later the sandwich came back. It looked even worse the second time. Really really disappointing.

I was so very lonely this night but Mr. Cervantes changed my tune. Delicious big juicy plump ripe sandwich. That will make anybody’s melody turn happy and gayful.

I recommend ham and pinapple. You’ll be sitting pretty after that and you can call me and tell me that I was right.

Surprisingly, I miss the misses. It’s been a long solo trip and although things have been terribly rocky lately, I love her. ❣️😻

Great place for family meal, reasonable price, one of the best places in town to have traditional Brazil food. Beef Ribeye is always excellent, although we ordered it everyday during our stay. By the way, thank you for the free pulled pork sample, it tasted very good!
