This is not a hotel, never mind a Boutique Hotel. There is no one at the reception desk most of the day. The room keys are unattended. There is no hot water. The air conditioning in the rooms is so old that it blows dust. Ended up getting bronchitis from the dust. Skip this hotel.

Based on a friend's recommendation, we chose this boutique hotel.
It was one of the best hotel choices we've ever made. We have rarely experienced such a relaxing and harmonious hotel.
It is an exceptionally delightful place in Rio, perfect as a base for exploring the city and offering tranquility to unwind between excursions.
We look forward to our next stay.

My partner and I stayed at Les Jardins for five nights in July. The hotel is unique and beautifully decorated. Anyone interested in art, interior design, or architecture would love it here.

The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved hanging out on our balcony and around the hotel. I gave our stay 5 stars, but here are a few things to know:

1. The property probably has not been renovated in a long time. There are only a handful of outlets in the room and most are in use for other things. Some minor things need attention, the shower curtains, wood floor, etc. none of it was unpleasant, but some small changes would really make the place flawless and let it shine.

2. The breakfast could have been better and it starts at 9, which is a bit too late. Our first day they asked us if we wanted scrambled eggs, but not the other days! The juice though was really nice and fresh.

3. If you’re a sensitive sleeper, heads up that there will be very loud music from a nearby club playing on Friday and Saturday well into the morning (probably around 7). We really struggled with sleeping once we got back. Personally, we probably wouldn’t stay over the weekend anymore!

These being said, we were visited by beautiful wildlife, loved the establishment, and are overall very happy about the experience.

+ Beautiful architecture of the house & gorgeous garden around it
+ Lovely breakfast
+ Relatively quiet neighborhood
+ Good A/C
+ We felt safe

- Lacking tidiness in room & bathroom
- Hair on (rather greyish) bedsheets that was not from us
- Moldy grouts & ants in the bathroom
- Water doesn't drain in shower & wash basin (according to hotel management because the pipes in Rio de Janeiro were built too small originally)
- Hot water only for ca. 10min --> no consecutive showers
- Lack of organization on various occasions
- Value for money: Desastrous. We stayed there for New Year's Eve plus night before and night after and, in the end, paid only about 20% less than the 5⭐️ luxury hotels directly at Copacabana because the hotel's bank charged a high fee for the transaction which we had to cover [but we never got to see evidence for this charge].

FYI: There is a chain for a bell at the entrance to ring if you don't have the pin for the lock of the main entrance.
