I visited Oteque with my husband on January 2nd, while in my hometown for the holidays.  We go often to Michelin star restaurants and wanted to visit the 37o best restaurant in the world.  I made the reservation months in advance, also paying in advance (including 12,5% service).  In the email confirmation it was mentioned that there was a 15 minute tolerance for the reservation. The food was great,  as expected, but didn't cause me the "wow" factor. I noticed the dishes were coming very fast one after the other. After around 2 hours, while we were having tea, we were offered a drink in the bar because they needed the table. This has never happened before to me on a fine dining restaurant. Michelin * restaurants are an experience. They should inform in the reservation that you have 2 hours for a 8 course menu,  like it is informed an all you can eat restaurant

Was a little bit worried after reading controversial reviews. However everything went well, the food was divine and they fulfilled our request and speeded up the process as we had a flight to catch. Additionally my boyfriend had birthday and I asked for a little cake so they did. The only disappointment, well not a real disappointment but premium wine menu is the wine from Europe. We are coming from the Netherlands and thought that we would try local wines, but premium option is just a European selection. I think it would be better to explore South American wines.

What a lovely experience. The vibe, the food, the intimate space were all great. My husband said the wagyu was the best steak he’s ever had in his life. The service was attentive and refilled glasses of wine even when not empty. All the dishes were delicious.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience here at the 2 star michellin restaurant. The food was decent but not worthy of 2 star. When we asked the chef why the truffles they used was so tasteless, they said they didn't manage to get the best ones as it was end of season. So the question is, why didn't they change the dish to something more seasonal? This was the last thing I expect from such a highly rated restaurant. The service was very clinical and no warmth at all. Definitely a restaurant you can miss!

Oteque have recently received their second Michelin star and it's well deserved!

I assume the menu will rotate enough that it's not worth going into the details on each plate so here's a couple tips:

1. Sit at the chef's table if dining for two. While the room is small, everyone faces forward to the kitchen and the front table is the chef's table.

2. Save room for the bread! Every dish was flavorful and interesting but hot bread loaf and butter is always delicious and they do it well!

3. Consider ordering saki. Not only does it go nicely with the mostly seafood dishes, but they have some good choices and the price of the wines are pricey!

Overall a great meal and probably my favorite Michelin in town (yes I've tried them all)
