It’s a really nice interpretation center. There is a lot of information and history of the islands. I really recommend visiting. They have a beautiful beach where you can see many sea lions: baby’s, young, old ones.

This was on our “maybe” list, but glad we went. Very informative and interesting facts about the islands which add more color about the history rather than just the ecological aspect which is covered lots of times on other museums and island.

It’s free to enter and you can just walk in and stroll at your own pace. They have clean bathrooms also for use.

This center doesn't seem to draw the crowd that it should! It's the entry to the Tijeritas trails and overlooks, plus it provides a great appreciation for the islands flora, fauna, and history. It feels like an American National Park visitors center but without air conditioning. There are multiple buildings each with their own features. Restrooms are available and staff speaks English. It's not a far or hard walk from town.

Its a great information center!
You can read a lot of the history of the islands here. You have to enter the center if you want to go to the beaches or the lookout platforms

The only downside is that the history only goes up till 2017, what happened to the islands in the last few years?
They are a little behind on maintenance as well. displays that are broken or empty.

But nonetheless it's an amazing, if not the best, source to get information.

This was a very interesting museum, describing the history of the Galapagos islands. It was a nice stop prior to getting on our flight back home. It talked a little bit about the people who influenced the islands, some of the legends, some of the geology, and then some of the future. Definitely worth a visit, if you have the time.
