This accommodation was very unique in its architectural design and in its history.  The staff were very friendly.
For the location, it was quite a walk to go from here to downtown every day and night.
The major problem I had was in the amount of bugs that I found every single day in the room.  They were large cockroaches and other types of bugs.  If you have a fear of bugs then this is definitely not the place for you.

We stayed for four nights at Castillo while we were in Santa Cruz and then returned from Isabela to stay another night before flying home. This was a perfect place to stay for us! We had a spacious room with two beds and a great bathroom for the greater part of our stay. On the last night we were 'upgraded' I supposed and stayed in the top of the castle (a turret!) which had four beds, a table and chairs, a small tv, and a huge bathroom. This would be perfect for a family (our even two!). We had access to the kitchen where we always cooked breakfast and to a living room where we read some of the books they had available (lonely planet guide). There was always clean drinking water available which was really nice .We made great use of the two bikes they had at the time to get around Puerto Ayora - they are old and one didn't have brakes but we are in our early twenties and it didn't faze us too much. This place had a great family feel - would definitely recommend!

The staff very nice and helpful, there is no restaurant in the hostel, breakfast was not included, a bit far from the pier, very safe.

They ‘accidentally’ charged my card for someone else’s stay 2 months after I left. They took photographs of my card at check in- Be careful!
