The experience here is unique along with informational. Salt… everything! Pink Salt, Herb infused salt, chocolate with…. Salt. This is a true gem in the foothills of the Andes/Cusco. Most ATV tours will take you here for a pit stop. Worth it!

You might be wondering how large amounts of salt deposits ended up in the middle of the Andes Mountains. Though the salt pans themselves are man-made, the water that is channeled through them comes from a subterranean natural spring, which is mixed with salt deposits from prehistoric salt lakes. The staff was polite and meal there was tasty but it was a normal chocolate store nothing special so far

Lovely charming family run place where they tell you about how the salt mines work. This is complimentary and then they take you to their shop and let you taste their chocolate and smoked salts. Both their lovely energy and the flavour of some of their chocolates had me drop 80soles on gifts which I can’t wait to share.
