The food was incredible, each dish was executed perfectly. Even a “simple” dish like rice with beans had so much depth of flavor. The products were top notch and they brought out some of the ingredients while giving the explanation which helped with comprehending the products fully. Nothing bad to say about the food and it rightfully is 5th in the world for restaurants. To make the experience even better we would have appreciated more attention in the service which was lacking, most of the “attention” and care was given mostly to my dad and small things such as water service was not executed very well. Furthermore, the atmosphere was a bit awkward and we were welcomed quite coldly. Other than that, the food was impeccable.

I am struggling to understand how Maido is rated this high as one of the World’s best restaurants. We had the 15 years Maido experience tasting menu and it didn’t live up to our expectations. The sauces and flavour profiles were too “heavy”, without much balance. Nothing was exceptional in my honest opinion. The atmosphere was also a let down. Look elsewhere if you’re looking for a real fine dining experience in Lima.

We could not find a reservation but nevertheless got a table. We arrived at 2:45 PM and got lucky. We noticed that most people for the lunch service departed at around three to 3:30 PM so I believe you can easily get a table if you just show up around 3 PM and promise to leave by 5 PM. We tried a couple of dishes across the menu and liked everything. Some things seemed over engineered to us and had too many different flavors. We would’ve preferred it straight in plain. Great experience and very attentive service.

As a Best 50 Restaurant in the world. We were amused for the details, taste, service drinks and more. We tried a mix of Japanese-Peruvian fusion dishes with Wagyu, Seafood and more. Highly recommend it.

Maido was an incredible experience. If visiting Lima, I highly recommend giving it a try. My wife and I were able to walk in and be sat at the sushi bar, but it's better to have reservations. This was quite possibly the best food we've ever eaten.
