We arrived on a Sunday after 3 nights "glamping" in a national park and I can't tell you how much we loved our stay. We had a suite which was more like an apartment and it was perfect, clean, comfortable, decor was wonderful. The whole team work so hard to make your stay feel like a luxury stay yet friendly, approachable and more importantly they want to make sure your stay is the best it can possibly be.

We travel alot, stayed in some incredible hotels around the world and I promise you that you won't find better people to help you enjoy a break away from it all. Keep in mind it's a retreat, if you're looking for buzzing night life and a nightly LED show don't stay here. If you want to spend some time with your loved one, unwind and be left to it without be hassled constantly then this is your perfect place. We found our perfect place to go back year after year, we look forward to seeing all the team here very soon.

I visited Villa Coloniale Schumacher Luxury Retreat with the simple intention of purchasing a bottle of wine from the Schumacher Collection.

However, I hadn’t made a booking to check in—an oversight on my part, as access is reserved exclusively for guests.
Still, my spontaneous and optimistic nature urged me to go with the flow, and I’m so glad I did.

The moment I stepped onto the property, an indescribable sense of calm and belonging washed over me. It was as though the retreat itself welcomed me. The serenity of the space is truly transformative. I was warmly greeted by Joe, the most elegant and stunning manager, who appeared through the lush garden like a member of royalty. She welcomed me with grace and offered me coffee—a cappuccino so perfect, it could have been crafted by angels.

Joe explained the importance of respecting guests' privacy, which meant I couldn’t tour the rest of the property. However, she kindly invited me to enjoy my coffee in the garden, a gesture of hospitality I’ll never forget. Despite my initial embarrassment at arriving unannounced, I left feeling treated like royalty.

That evening, as I reflected on the experience, I felt deeply grateful. By the grace of God, I was privileged to catch a glimpse of the exquisite beauty of Villa Coloniale—a sanctuary that few are fortunate enough to enjoy.

Everything, from the meticulously designed interiors to the breathtaking surroundings, is curated to perfection.

I highly recommend Villa Coloniale Schumacher Luxury Retreat to anyone seeking an extraordinary and exclusive escape.

I booked this for my parents and they absolutely enjoyed their stay. This is an absolute gem in Constantia. Fabian was an excellent host: friendly, attentive & responsive. He arranged an early cold breakfast because they had an early flight the next day.
They stayed in the deluxe suite, which was very spacious, spotlessly clean with a walk in shower.
This place is hidden away from the hustle & bustle of the city whilst being close enough (a short drive) to really good restaurants & wine farms. If you're looking for a quiet place with great quality service all round, I highly recommend, and I'll be back.

An amazing experience ✨️ received upgraded room at arrival.  Room was spacious, clean, contemporary finishing and furnished, heated floor and towel rail in bathroom, air-conditioned/heater in room and lounge.
Tasty breakfast with lots of variety can be enjoyed in main house or in garden.
Great location to enjoy the many nearby attractions.

We had a perfect stay at Villa Coloniale! Jo and the team are amazing — friendly, attentive, accommodating, you feel like you are part of a family. The included breakfast each day was divine, not to mention the setting of eating in the beautiful garden. Our room came with a private outdoor seating area which was more than spacious. We were so sad to leave this little slice of paradise in the middle of lush Constantia, and can’t wait to return!
