The Acropolis and its museum are undoubtedly the primary draw for most visitors to Athens. Walking in the footsteps of giants like Plato, Socrates, and Aristotle, and centuries of others, is an awe-inspiring experience. It's crucial to allow yourself to soak in the immense history of the site.

The changing light throughout the day – sunrise, sunset, rain, or shine – offers unique perspectives. The views are breathtaking, often making me wish I were a professional photographer.

A guided tour, whether with a live guide or an audio guide, can significantly enhance the experience. Understanding the historical context adds incredible depth to the site. But after the guided tour, be sure to simply absorb the experience and significance of the place.

I would have not enjoy my holiday in Athens if I didn't go to the Acropolis and all the beautiful ruins there.
And I get to visit it for free! Yes because it is free for European Union citizens under 26y/o!!! So if you're in that case, don't hesitate to go!

Of course it’s must-visit place in Athens

We were lucky to get there on a free day, so opinions may differ. Overall, the opportunity to touch thousands of years of history is simply unique and there is nothing to compare it with. During our visit, the temples were being restored and they were in scaffolding, but this did not prevent us from enjoying the atmosphere and imagining ourselves among the heroes of the myths that we have known since childhood))

A great off season visit in December on a glorious late fall day.
It wasn’t too crowded and the Parthenon was spectacular. We saved some time by buying the tickets online and it worked like a charm.
