Great national park like area with nice hiking trails surrounded by bigger mountains in a open forest area.
Especially the tour to the blue green colored lake (approx 13km) is really nice. Due to nature protection due to to mich tourism the areas that can be hiked are limited and you need to follow the tracks precisely but you can still see everything and it is still beautiful.
I would recommend to not come at weekends  or in swedish Holliday's as it is much less crowded in off season.

Une magnifique réserve naturelle.
Il y avait très peu de monde lorsque nous y sommes allées, c’était extrêmement paisible et ressourçant ! Nous y avons campé une nuit.
La réserve dispose d’un café/restaurant ainsi que d’une petite supérette qui vend aussi des articles de sport et de camping.
Attention cependant : le bus qui dessert la réserve depuis la gare d’Undersåker doit être réservé par téléphone à l’avance (avant 16h le jour ouvré précédant le jour où vous aurez besoin de transport) 😉

A magnificent nature reserve.
There were very few people when we went there, it was extremely peaceful and refreshing! We camped there one night.
The reserve has a café/restaurant as well as a small supermarket which also sells sports and camping items.
Be careful though: the bus that serves the reserve from Undersåker station must be reserved by telephone in advance (before 4 p.m. on the working day preceding the day you will need transport) 😉

Een van de mooiste en grootste reservaten in Zweden. Het landschap hier is zeer divers, oude bossen, wilde rivieren, mooie meren, en moerassen wisselen elkaar hier af. Vanaf het fjallstation Valadalen gaan er veel gemarkeerde wandelpaden het reservaat in. Helaas zijn de meeste van de paden lange afstandspaden zodat je als dagtoerist vaak heen en weer moet lopen. De wandeling via route 283 naar het Ostra Blanktjarnarna meer is een van de weinige rondwandelingen.
De zwaarte van de paden varieert van redelijke vlak tot zeer veel stenen. Reken hier op circa 3-3,5km per uur.

One of the most beautiful and largest reserves in Sweden. The landscape here is very diverse, old forests, wild rivers, beautiful lakes and swamps alternate here. From the Valadalen fjall station there are many marked hiking trails into the reserve. Unfortunately, most of the trails are long-distance trails, so as a day tripper you often have to walk back and forth. The walk via route 283 to the Ostra Blanktjarnarna lake is one of the few circular walks.
The difficulty of the paths varies from fairly flat to very many stones. Count on approximately 3-3.5 km per hour.
