We booked Estelle Manor an overnight stay for my partners birthday and we were overall disappointed with the experience.
Firstly, the rooms are not soundproof, we heard door slamming every 10 minutes for 1 hour next door whilst cleaners cleaned the room despite calling and complaining and this was up until 9pm.
Secondly, a fire alarm went off at 9:30pm and we evacuated the room and had to alert reception ourselves for an immediate call out, as the guy at reception informed us that it alerts a management company that then contacts reception? Slightly concerning as if that was an actual fire it would’ve time before anybody came over.
The service wasn’t great around the pool. We waited 10 minutes to be served and had to grab their attention as nobody came up to us and just stood in their area chatting. Whilst the girls were very friendly, they did drop ketchup when clearing away our food and some of that landed in my shoes!
There is also ongoing construction at the hotel which you can hear as it starts pretty early in the morning. This also blocks off a lot of the cycling routes which we followed and got told to not cycle on due to construction which was pretty disappointing. I do think hotels/companies should hold off opening an hotel until all construction is completed as it ruins a relaxing night away which we assumed we booked.
Finally, the spa is not included within your stay - it’s an extra £95 per person which is cheeky as this doesn’t even include treatments this is purely access. Most 5 star hotels include spa access when you pay for a stay.
There were lots of things we did enjoy which we relayed onto reception upon check out when we addressed the above issues (valet parking staff were amazing - great front of house which made us feel welcomed on arrival, lots of nice room touches - cloud nine straighteners, curlers and hair dryer, lots of cool activities like archery) but I just think there were too many things for us that dampened our experience for us to re-visit.

A friend of mine has a membership here and I was kindly invited for brunch and shown around. The place looks really nice and definitely appears to be better value for money compared to the alternatives (won't mention any names!).

I don't know anything about the membership process so I can only comment on what I saw - that much was very nice. The manor house is beautiful and the fireplaces add a really welcoming touch. The area is fantastic, with typical idyllic views and rolling British countryside hills. I would happily visit again. I can imagine it's a great place to hang out and work from.

There is ample parking, including for larger vehicles.

Loved our stay here! The staff were extremely accommodating and the room was amazing. We were upgraded to a walled garden cottage and it was beautiful. I love the activities they offer and the scones were some of the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend this place!

Wow! What a beautiful, accommodating, and relaxing stay we had. The food was exquisite, the views were breathtaking, and the service was impeccable. We also had the pleasure of archery with Finn, an incredible guy who made the experience even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back and will bring our son along, as it’s also fantastic for children with their own electric Land Rovers. Thank you so much for having us!
