Really fun time with my toddler. My child enjoyed walking up all the stairs and the stained glass. She enjoyed the inside and especially the outdoor part! It was a little tough to navigate and if you don't know what to look for you might miss some things. But we had fun and easily spent a couple hours there. Not stroller friendly - they make you check the stroller at the front but something weird happened, we were told to leave the stroller there so I did but when we went to retrieve it they asked for a ticket but they never gave it to us. They let us take our stroller without much fuss but it didn't make me feel good because what if someone else took our stroller and they let them get away with it. Also there was no security to watch the stroller, the person at the kiosk isn't really paying attention. Leave at your own risk!

Also to get up there isn't stroller or wheelchair friendly. Buying the tickets is up a few stairs and then the hike up to the castle is fairly steep and rough.

The surrounding Chapultepec Park was a perfect place to relax after exploring. Overall, it was an educational and visually captivating experience.

Review for Chapultepec Castle in Mexico City

Chapultepec Castle is an absolute must-visit when you’re in Mexico City! Perched on a hill in Chapultepec Park, it offers stunning views of the entire city. Unfortunately, we visited on a Monday, and the castle was closed (a helpful tip: check their schedule before planning your trip).

Even though we couldn’t go inside, we walked around the entire perimeter, taking in the grandeur of the castle from the outside. The architecture is breathtaking, and the surrounding park is serene and beautiful. We snapped some fantastic photos from various vantage points, and the scenery made it worth the walk.

Conveniently located next to our hotel, it was an easy excursion that left us wanting to return for the full experience. Next time, we’ll plan better to explore the rich history and interiors of this iconic site!

Tip: Avoid Mondays if you want to go inside. But even if it’s closed, the exterior and the park still make for a memorable visit!
