This monument is just amazing, the size and presence in the middle of Rome just calls for a visit.

If you ask me, the monument has a hidden gem on the roof. It's 17EUR to go up but you will have an amazing view of Rome in general but a magnificent view of the Roman forum and the coliseum.

Inside you will also find a museum of Italian independence and the country's participation in other wars.

I would not recommend a guided tour for this place since everything is extremely well explained.

From almost any vantage point in Rome one building stands out; huge, dazzlingly white and with black horses standing on the roof precipice.
Up close it is even more impressive. On a sunny day the white marble really does dazzle and reflect the heat at you. I believe it is nicknamed the "wedding cake" and it really does remind you of an extravagant, multi-tiered cake covered in white icing.
You have to climb a lot of steps to reach the  podium level but a terrific view awaits. There is a lot of restoration work going on in Sep 2024 but that doesn't stop the crowds.
A small opening in the far corner leads to the museum entrance and to the side and rear terraces with even more viewpoints and a very popular cafe.
A glass enclosed lift has been built on the rear terrace to take visitors to a roof top viewpoint. It seems a bit unnecessary but it is surprisingly sympathetically done. I think it is free but there was a line and a wait since it will only take a few at a time. From there the circular terrace route takes you back down to ground level.
This is a must do free event if you are in Rome for the first time. But will someone please give those two soldiers guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier some shelter from the sun.

Fabulous view over the city. We booked on the official website, it was cheaper than paying at the site. The e-tickets were valid for entry anytime that day. We visited on Sunday 29th September. There was no wait to access the colonnade or the lift.

There are so many wonderful sights in Rome it is difficult to decide what to include. I think this is definitely worth it. The glass lift takes you up to the very top of the building, to the panoramic rooftop terrace. There is no other view higher in the city. Word of warning there are a lot of steps up to the level of the colonnade before you get to the lift. This is done in stages, first to the level of the eternal flame and then to the colonnade, you can do this at your own pace, the steps are wide so people can pass. You then walk through the magnificent colonnade and then to the rear of the building to access the lift. From that perspective you can appreciate how big the decorations around the roof line are to make them visible from the ground. Don’t forget sunglasses, the sun bounces off the white marble! Fantastic views. Pretty amazing when you see it from the street level at night too.

Provides some of the best panoramic views of Rome. What’s lost in the pictures is how vast this place is and how much the open space creates a nice distance from the crowds.

Definitely a recommended stop.

This is just marvellous piece of landmark! Full of history to educate us, about the VICTOR EMMANUEL II, the first king to unified Italy in Rome!
Also there is the Monument of the ROMAN GODDESS OF LOVE ♥️ !

There is no need to buy a ticket, as entry is absolutely free, which is very surprising!
The buildings is so huge that you need at least few hours to go through the whole building and admire the beauty and skills of the architectures!

So many sculptures inside the building as well as the masterpiece are Standing tall on the outside of building!
