Visited here early in the week. The staff were excellent. Welcoming and informative. I enjoyed the talk up on the roof. Plenty of fun things to see and do, even if in places it felt like an exhibition of 3D art that you can find in any novelty shop. Not all bad, by any means. The views on the roof are spectacular, the hall of mirrors whilst small, was fun, and I enjoyed the tunnel. There are better value offerings in Edinburgh though.

Enjoyable visit with plenty of Scottish paraphernalia to browse through. We had such a good time in here that we didn't visit the actual castle which was the original plan. We did the photos with the kilts which turned out so well and made great Xmas gifts. It is reasonably priced also, easy to make your way around and something for everyone. Staff were very friendly.

Such a great venue and day out. Kids loved it, we all did. Well worth a visit, and the money. There are A LOT of steps though if you have younger children or are impaired with your mobility it can be a bit tricky, but generally you go up about 12 steps between floors and then it is flat before going to the next level. A café/refreshments would be a nice addition, so make sure you take snacks and a water bottle if you're with children. There are some fun things and keepsakes in the shop from pocket money priced gifts upwards.

Absolutely amazing place to go with kids. I’m so glad that I follow others people reviews. I would definitely recommended to all those family who have kids to go and you won’t be disappointed. Big kid and even little one can have fun together from their first step getting in till last one. I can’t believe me and my husband also playing and having fun like a little one  hah. My son and my little young lady love it. It is worth the money to pay for. We had such a great time there.

Excellent day spent here - great for kids. I liked that we could come in, spend some time and then go out when our daughter got a bit overstimulated. The camera obuscura itself is also really amazing! Imagine what Victorian era people must have thought of a moving projection! Really amazing that this has stunned and amazed people for so long! Well worth the visit
