The queues are always long, but worth the short wait! They’re fast but doesn’t take a bit. The coffee was good but the croissants, omg! They’re delicious. The sesame like other reviews mentioned, is the best!! Almond was good too, and so was the savory. But I would go back for the sesame! Planning to try others in the next couple days that were here.

The black sesame croissant was superb—crispy, flaky, and packed with flavour. Unfortunately, the other pastries were just average and didn’t leave much of an impression. The drip coffee was below average, which was disappointing. Add a 30-minute wait in line, and the overall experience felt underwhelming. Great for the black sesame croissant, but not sure it’s worth the hype for anything else.

Beautiful coffee shop with excellent pastries and coffee. The coffee is strong, but balanced. The employees were super sweet and helpful! They were also very knowledgeable! The line was long, but moved fast. While we waited for our drinks we got to sample some of their different coffees. We left with a bag of beans because it was so good! If you ever want to expand to the mainland please consider Colorado 🤣🩷

Worth waiting in line, especially for their food! Some of the best pastries I’ve ever had. Visited on multiple occasions during our 10-day stay in Honolulu. Their croissants were amazing, especially the chocolate banana one, though the pineapple coconut croissant is just as good. The mango kouign amann is to die for—definitely one of their best items. We also had their avocado toast and it was just as delicious as the sweet pastries. The employees were always kind and welcoming, even during busy hours.

This place came so highly recommended that I was more than happy to wait in line. By the time that I got to the front, I was indecisive, but one of the employees there made some great recommendations. I ordered a savory scone, a Hawaiian croissant, and the Black Sesame Kouign Amann. I did attempt to order a hot chocolate but it wasn’t available. The Black Sesame Kouign Amann so amazing and more than made up for the wait and limited hot beverage options. The Hawaiian croissant was delicious as well.

Hawaii

Kona Coffee Purveyors is one of my favorite cafes in the Waikiki area! There is usually quite a long line outside of tourists visiting from their Waikiki hotels, but I still love coming as a local. I usually park at Ala Moana and walk over - it's a long but nice walk. For drinks, I love the affogato here! For food, my favorite pastry is the black sesame kougin aman (pronounced "queen ah-mah-n"), and my favorite sandwich is the ham and cheese. However, every pastry, sandwich, and drink I've tried here has been delicious! All the employees are very friendly and can provide good recommendations if you're not sure what to get. The prices are a bit high, but you get great quality food, and it's in the heart of Waikiki, so everything is a bit pricey here. It can be tough to find a seat indoors or outdoors at this cafe. I do not recommend it as a "sit and do work on a laptop" kind of place. It's more of a grab and go place. You can also eat at the large standing table next to various strangers (there is usually space at that table). But you're in such a nice spot that it's not a big deal to take the food elsewhere to eat (sit on a bench outside or walk down to the beach).

Ummmm, the coffee from Kona Coffee Purveyors was just ok while the pastries from B Patisserie (SF original bakery shares the location with Kona who provides the coffee and BP provides the baked goods) was spot on excellent. Had an iced Latte and Iced Mocha. Just ok while the Banana Chocolate Almond Croissant and the Pineapple Coconut Almond Croissant were flaky and filled with tasty fruit. We missed out in the Kouign-Amann which sells out by 10am. Definitely will get before we leave. 3 for the coffee, 5 for the pastries thus a 4.

A good spot for great quality coffee, but it can get very crowded at times. There is very limited parking nearby. They have some indoor and outdoor seating available. There are no signs, but this location has two separate lines. If you're on the left side, you are able to just order drinks and pastries. The line on the right side is for those that are buying the beans to take home and you are also able to buy drinks/pastries from that line. The line on the left can sometimes take an hour or more depending on when you go. The line on the right is often less crowded, but you are spending more money at a time. They use very good quality coffee and the drinks are very well made. They call out your name once your order is ready and it can be hard to hear depending on who is calling names. The pastries are delicious and they take a lot of pride into making high quality products. It's a great spot if you're willing to wait in line for it!

Line is always out the door at this Kona Coffee Purveyors spot! Great coffee, great b.patisserie pastries, and -- my Favorite -- AWESOME Tartines, served from 9.30-2pm daily. We come here almost every morning whenever in Hawaii... it's so addicting! Their espresso drinks are all excellent! Lattes, Cappuccino, Mocha, or Kona coffee are all reasonably priced at $5-7. IMO, don't bother with their pour over "specialty" coffee - I tried - it's a whooping $13 and not worth it. However, their Tartines are one of the best I've had. You really can't go wrong with any options. My favorites are the mushroom, ham & cheese, and the avocado. SO YUM! A special SHOUT OUT to their Tartine chef (Arimi?), who prepares each order with such care and attention to detail, no matter how busy she is. (trimming the burnt corners, plating the dishes, and cutting each order evening into four pieces, etc.) It's a joy to watch her prepare the tartines and she's such an expert. They also serve b.patisserie pastries, that originated from San Francisco, which is known for exceptional craftsmanship and TASTE! Literally ALL of their pastries are very good... our favorites are the sesame pastry, almond & pineapple croissant, and the chocolate. Yum! Line is long but moves quickly. Also - you can skip the line and head inside to their register to the right IF you're also buying a pound of coffee... an added bonus. Their outdoor seating is super popular , where you can chillax, enjoy your coffee + pastries and people watch. A super fun spot!

Long lines and not cheap, but worth the wait! The husband and I heard great remarks about Kona's coffee but almost didn't stop by because of the massive line! But we are sooo glad we did! Even though we were practically staying next door and dropped in near opening, their line was already wrapping down the hall of the mall. In the end, we waited and chatted up some other coffee waiters. Passed on the pastries and the $50 bags of coffee. Endured the Gen Z stare and ordered maybe the best coffee of our trip. We opted for the iced black sesame and Hawaiian honey lattes. Amazing and worth the hype! Go early and get comfortable! 10/10 would recommend! Doc a star for the line, but they can't help that they're great!

I wonder if I went on an off day, because our drinks were terrible and I feel bad saying so since we've seen so many great reviews about Kona! We went in the middle of the day and got lattes, both of which were not good at all. My husband and I forced ourselves to finish the drink. We did get a chocolate chip cookie to share, which was very tasty and the only reason I gave it an extra star :(

Oh my god. Kona is absolutely worth the hype. Their food, coffee, and service are amazing. I arrived at 6:20am because I heard it's a wait. There were 12 people already ahead of me. By 7am, you couldn't even see the back of the line because it was so long. The line goes fast though! I suggest to get there early, if you can. The food. Oh my god. I got the matcha dome, strawberry pastry, and the famous kouign-amman and all were amazing. 100000/10 I also got the Kona affogato which was also delish. 100000/10 Everyone was sooooo kind and helpful. The gals were sweet and make great coffee :) They were even so up for me taking pics and videos. Overall experience was a 100/10. I'm so glad I came and I will totally be back

This place was located directly across the street from my hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn. Every morning I saw a long line out the door and I decided I needed to try it. On our last morning, my husband and I packed up our stuff and headed across the street for breakfast. The line was long, but moved at a decent pace. We ordered a variety of things to try: Large Iced Vanilla Latte - They forgot the vanilla so I had to go back to ask them to add it. This was absolutely delicious. They gave me a shot of vanilla to add to the coffee. I could still see the flecks from the vanilla bean. One of the best lattes I've had in my life. Large Hibiscus Iced Tea - The receipt said Hibiscus Guava which is what we ordered, but they were out of Guava. We were ok with only the Hibiscus tea. My husband loved it. We prefer our drinks unsweetened so make sure to ask for it sweetened if you need sugar. It wasn't bitter which is often the case with tea. Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant - This was divine. I didn't expect it to stuffed with bananas and chocolate like it was since it wasn't very heavy when I picked it up. This was light, fluffy, crunchy, and creamy all in one. I do wish it had been warmed up though. Coffee Cake - This was weird. It was delicious, but it certainly was NOT coffee cake. It tasted like a vanilla muffin with raspberries. Not sure we'd recommend this. Banana Bread - We ordered this to share on the plane ride back to the mainland. It was delicious. I could taste the fresh banana. I'd highly suggest ordering this if you're able to make it here. Overall, I'd give it a 4/5. I'd come back for the latte alone.

Located smack dab in the middle of downtown Waikiki in the International Marketplace on Kalakaua Ave, Kona Coffee Purveyors serves up some of the best espresso based drinks, in my humble opinion. The line during the majority of the day would likely agree with me as well. Seating is somewhat limited inside and there is some seating outside. Service was friendly enough and efficient. This is an easy coffee shop to recommend when you're in the area.

Hands down one of the must-try places in Waikiki! Kona Coffee Purveyors serves fresh coffee and pastries, along with desserts and sandwiches that are amazing. Highly recommend coming as early as you can, as there tends to be a line out the door with items selling out. Price point is steep, but it's definitely worth the splurge. The husband and I have visited many times with our go-to being the Kouign Amann, whether it's the classis, chocolate, or black sesame. ALL of them are so delicious. Their Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant is amazing, as well!
