My wife and I stopped by for a quick lunch as we past through Stockholm; it was the perfect day to sit out on the terrace.  Both the food and cocktails were wonderful, would recommend to anyone downtown looking for an afternoon delight!

Probably not the best place for celebrating birthday. Misleading booking form on their page where you can check the box that you’re there to celebrate birthday makes you think they will somehow pay attention to this like they normally do in other restaurants, but in reality they simply ignore this. If you’re there for an ordinary dinner then this is a great place. Generous portions, Astoria toast and Caesar salad were super delicious! Generally great vibe. The service got slow at the end of the evening but the waiters were friendly.

What a wonderful experience. Hot spot in Stockholm with limited availability. But stubborn as we are, we decided to simply walk in: it did not require any negotiations with the loverly staff but they immediately offered us a seat at the bar with direct view onto the kitchen. That in itself was an amazing experience to watch the well-orchestrated machinery of the chefs and sous-chefs who with love and diligence prepared to perfection the menu items in front of our eyes.
And obviously, the food was spectacular!! The toast Astoria and the hamachi tartar were phantastic starters, followed by the most tender cod and charred salmon “tataki” which were a tremendously well balanced bouquet for our taste buds, absolutely on point.
Unquestionably, we were defenseless in resisting the desire for dessert: So we gave in and took a rhubarb white chocolate mousse with lemon sorbet as well as a crème brulee with Thail basis and strawberries: they felt like an entry card to paradise…

Ursprünglich im Jahr 1870 erbaut, begann die Geschichte des Gebäudes als eine innovative Biograf, die damals eine wichtige kulturelle Rolle in der schwedischen Hauptstadt spielte.

Historische Entwicklung der Brasserie Astoria.

Im Jahr 1928 wurde das Gebäude in die bekannte Astoria Cinema umgewandelt, was den kulturellen Wert und die Nutzung des Hauses erheblich veränderte. Dieser Wandel spiegelt den dynamischen Charakter Stockholms wider, das ständig im Wandel ist und sich stets neu erfindet.

2007 markierte das Ende der Kinoperioden, und das Gebäude wurde stillgelegt. Doch die Geschichte endet hier nicht, denn im Jahr 2021 wurde die Brasserie Astoria in das lebendige Herz Stockholms zurückgebracht, diesmal als eine elegante und internationale Brasserie, die unter der Leitung der renommierten Frantzén Group steht.
