The menu changes daily, based on what’s fresh and in season. At the beginning of the night, the waiter introduces the entire menu for everyone, which adds to the communal feel of the place. No printed menus—just a verbal rundown of what’s great that day. And everything is great. Every dish is cooked with care, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented.

Interesting dining experience. It was our first time, and we did need some explaining of the concept. They have a seasonal or select small menu of a few appetizers to select from and a few main dishes to select from. At a certain point, they will explain the menu to the entire restaurant in the form of a group announcement in both French and English. They then come around and take your tables entire order. There was a bit of pressure to order now. Food is served when it's served. They do tell you they serve the restaurant in portions or sections at a time. Overall, it was a decent dining experience. The food was good, well prepared, presentation was good, portion sizes on the smaller to average side. I could recommend this restaurant for a small group wanting a different dining experience. Nothing really wowed me fully, though. Service is on the casual side. The main server was friendly, joking, and trilingual! What I personally found a bit lacking was the lack of a cocktail menu. They did have a wine menu and 1 seasonal cocktail. Although it was a bit on the fruity side. I personally prefer a few stronger craft cocktail options in a restaurant of this venu type.

This is tough to write and I have similar feelings to other low reviews. Throughout the dinner, I had feelings of sadness and anxiety due to the poor service.

The whole entry process is confusing and odd. We were the second party to go through the door that night. When the first party entered, it was clear there were 4 other parties outside; however, the door was slammed in my face. I had to open the door and ask, Can I come in? The host said yeah, asked me two fast questions I couldn’t understand, then ran to answer the phone while I stood there confused.

I was first to be outside to enter, but someone else got the window seat. It felt like fighting for a good seat.

It took 25 minutes to be waited on and receive wine. After our wine glasses were empty, it took another 20 minutes to be asked if we wanted more drinks. At a good service restaurant, they notice when I have a quarter of a drink left or so and ask before it’s empty if I want more.

When the food arrived, there was no explanation or reminder of what’s on the plate. There’s a lot of detail and effort into the food (!!) so I felt they could do a better job of explaining.

They desperately need better ventilation. My clothes, hair, and coat (still) smell like smoke and beef.

The food was good, but wholly overshadowed by the service.

Overall, it was a letdown. Oh, and stepping out the door of the restaurant I rolled my ankle, so that’s a rough start to a holiday, in addition to the experience

The space is very small and simple, with lots of character. Make your reservation and make sure to arrive on time, as everyone’s food is served at the same time.
The menu changes often and is very short, but there were lots of interesting options.
We had the Cobia gravlax and the pork croquette as appetizers, both incredible.
As main we both had the contre-filet, and it was definite the best meat I’ve had ever since I moved to Canada.
As dessert we couldn’t choose between the chocolate brownie and the carrot cake - so we ordered both!
Servings are a good size - you can have a three course meal or skip one course and still be full. Staff is super friendly and professional.
Overall a great experience and will definitely be back when we’re back in town!

My husband and I were visiting from NY and wanted to check out this restaurant on Bourdain’s recommendation. From the outside, the restaurant is unassuming. The dining area is quaint but comfortable, and the staff took time to share the menu and made each table familiar with the various dishes. I have a sensitivity to onion and garlic, and the kitchen shared dishes that they could adapt to this need. I was so grateful for this! High attention and care to detail throughout the experience.

The food was exceptional. From appetizers to mains and desserts, we were very pleased. Everything was excellent.

If you have a moment to peek into the kitchen, do so! It is incredible the magic this restaurant is creating with so few chefs and such a modest kitchen. Highly impressive and we will absolutely return.

Rekommenderar starkt. Jag läste om det på Internet medan jag planerade en liten semester till Quebec. Såg att det var väldigt populärt/roligt och hade turen att sno en rez för två kl 18 (det var en tisdag). Vi kom lite tidigt eftersom vi inte visste om trafiken. Den unika upplevelsen börjar utanför - chatta med en anländande anställd och medbeskyddare i kön. Hela stämningen är varm, avslappnad, inbjudande, som om du ska till en väns hus för middag men de råkar vara en utmärkt kock. Vi njöt av showen (meny meddelas på franska och engelska) och maten var stor. Det blev lite bråttom på slutet - du kan inte dröja över kaffe och dessert med den andra sittplatsen kommer in vid 8 : 30 . Det här är en del av upplevelsen. Prova ankan!

Verkligen anmärkningsvärd upplevelse, så serveras mat av sådan kvalitet, i en lokal som ser ut som ett bohemiskt café. Dessa människor är genier inom meny och logistik. Om du kan få en plats nära prep området kommer du att bli förvånad över hur de lyckas med detta.

Vi såg denna plats på en Antony Bourdain show och som vi besökte Quebec vi ville prova det. Vi hade bokat för 8 : 30 men hade inte insett att det var två sittningar för alla, vi blev ombedda att vänta utanför och då välkomnades alla in samtidigt vilket skapade en känsla av teater - brill! Servitörerna var roligt avslappnad och mycket hjälpsam med våra drinkval. Musiken var bara en av lagets spellistor som också bidrog till den roliga atmosfären. Menyn förklarades sedan efter en fanfar på både Engelska och Franska och detta var kul på egen hand! När maten kom var det superbt och tänk att det hela var lagat på det minsta av kök med två inhemska spisar. Det var bara två kockar för ca 24 personer hur de gjorde det vet jag inte men de gjorde och de slog sönder det!

Min man och jag var på 8:an. 30 sittplatser den 5 september. Atmosfären är avslappnad, avslappnad och rolig: liten restaurang med kanske 24 gäster. Teamet älskar sina jobb och arbetar fantastiskt bra tillsammans. De gav oss en stor vin rekommendation. Maten var enastående! Menyn är listad på en svart tavla. Jag var orolig för att äta här eftersom jag är super petig med mat. Tack och lov hade valen under vårt besök alternativ för mig. Detta var en erfarenhet som vi inte ville föra vidare. De gör bara 2 portioner per natt. Alla hör en beskrivning av menyn samtidigt. Vår server hjälpte oss att välja ett bra Franska vin till vår måltid. Urval för vår måltid var gåslever, mozzarella, nötkött och fläsk följt av en blåbärssylt cheesecake. Allt var utsökt. Rekommenderar starkt att besöka om du är i Quebec City.

Jag och min fru har en stor matupplevelse. Presentationen var fantastisk. Atmosfären mycket avkopplande Servitörer förklarade menyn på Franska och Engelska. Bra drink parning förslag med vad vi valde att beställa. Maten var allt vi hoppades att det skulle vara och mer. Min svagas bästa måltid i Quebec. Varje gång jag besöker staden kommer det här stället att stå på min agenda.

Ett måste ställe att äta! Detta kommer alltid att betraktas som en av mina bästa matupplevelser. Maten var fenomenal och personalen var så uppmärksam, snäll & vänlig. En av personalen när de fick veta att det var vår årsdag, tog en plats med oss och delade en drink på huset för att fira vårt tillfälle. Restaurangen var liten och blygsam. Maten var sofistikerad & exceptionell. Alla rätter du beställer kommer att glädja.

Vi åt middag för två en måndagskväll. Vi hade det första sammanträdet som är klockan 18. Vi är engelsktalande. Detta var en av de bästa matupplevelser vi någonsin har haft. Maten var enastående. Vi åt lammbräss och gravlax till förrätt. Lammet var mört och såsen fyllig men välbalanserad. Gravlaxen var färsk, generöst skivad och serverades med krispiga grönsaker. Till huvudrätt hade vi bläckfisk och Porchetta. Båda var utmärkta, men bläckfisken stod ut. Kocken på bläckfisken var perfekt - förmodligen den bästa vi någonsin ätit. Till efterrätten åt vi cheesecake med tranbär och ginsorbet. Allt var perfekt tillagad och kryddad. Kunde inte hitta ett enda fel. Vår värd, Sabri, och de två kockarna var mycket vänliga. Vi chattade hela natten, de svarade på några frågor och gav utmärkta rekommendationer. Vi satt i baren, vilket jag skulle rekommendera om du gillar att prata. Från baren kunde vi se kockarnas passion för det de gör. Jag skulle rekommendera denna restaurang till någon, en av våra mest minnesvärda matupplevelser.

Vi kommer från New York och Paris och är lite bortskämda när det gäller utmärkta matupplevelser. Så först var vi tveksamma till att boka L’Affaire est Ketchup eftersom det fanns så många restauranger att välja mellan i Quebec. Jag är så glad att vi satsade! Vi provade en hel del av dem och detta var den överlägset bästa måltiden vi hade i Quebec! Ingredienserna, beredning och presentation var enastående! Och det kostade inte en löjlig arm n ett ben. Restaurangen och kockarna är helt opretentiösa. Men låt dig inte skrämmas av det... varje rätt var enastående. Förvänta dig inte en vit linne upplevelse. Det är väldigt bohemiskt och avslappnat; som att äta i någons kök. En sådan lättnad att slippa allt BS som verkar komma med “fin middag”. Det här handlar om maten. Menyn ändras dagligen och det finns endast två sittningar per dag. Så, så glad att vi gick med magen och bokade denna upplevelse. Tack så mycket!

Nu en av mina favoritrestauranger - - det är verkligen unikt och maten är enastående. De identifierar sig som en "pirat" restaurang men jag skulle säga att det känns mycket mer som att äta med en udda familj. Familjemedlemmarna är utmärkta kockar, förstås. Miljön är väldigt informell så informell att jag erbjöd mig att hjälpa till att duka. Vinlistan fick oss att gå till deras vinutbud i ett skåp (skåp? ) för att se utbudet.
