Found this place while walking from our hotel to the Eiffel Tower.  It's a cozy-looking lounge place with plush, velvet seats near Cambronne Paris Métro.  

The waiter handed us English menus and were polite and attentive.  Chill lounge music created a nice setting.  We ordered the 25 EUR menu that included a starter and main course.  For 2.50 EUR more, my bf got to try escargot for the first time.  Buttery, garlicky, with a lot of pesto--not bad, but I've had better in London.  

I had the crispy goat cheese with honey and mint.  Yummy and creamy, but a bit heavy.  So midway through the meal, we changed our minds about not getting drinks and ordered a 50 cL bottle of Bordeaux AOC.  

It went well with the succulent duck confit and roasted potatoes.  Bread basket was cold, but that's typical in Europe.  A great traditional French meal for lunch.  :)

Casual cafe with english speaking staff. 

Server was great and checked on us often. Very nice late nite cafe to eat drink or just enjoy the night. 

Dessert was delicious.

The cheese board and drinks was the only thing we took away from our visit. I would come back for that but I didn't give them a 5 star because it was so busy the night we went it took the waiter a long time to check up on us from time to time. Considering it was crowded inside and out it would of been nice to have him check up on us because we wanted to leave after we ate because we sat outside in the front, not under the warmer. I suggest if you go there at night in the fall, sit under a warmer, it gets pretty cold. Not only that but a lot of people smoke outside and if you don't like the smell of smoke, eat inside.

As La Place was the closest restaurant to my hotel, and I was just looking for a quick meal, I stopped in for dinner while traveling for business.

The atmosphere was nice and my waitress was super sweet - she gave me an English menu, spoke English well, and was just really pleasant and accommodating.

Unfortunately, the food wasn't as good.  I ordered the duck because one of the previous reviews said it was delicious, but I really didn't like it at all.  It had no textural interest - everything was just mush together - the duck, the potatoes - the only texture difference was the sliminess offered by the mushrooms.  Also, the duck had a very strong, unpleasant flavor.

I didn't try anything else, and maybe the other menu options are better, but I wouldn't try La Place again.

Cute little cafe which was packed full of people. This is right off the Vicennes stop on the RER A. Personally I thought the food here was pretty cheap. I had the salmon with bernaise sauce which was pretty good, and a grapefruit juice. The service here is typical French service so don't expect anything else than that.

We were first recommended to this place by the front desk 5 years ago and it was good, service was excellent.  Since were back 5 years later, we decided to try it again.  Guess what? Food was good and service was excellent.  Of course prices were a bit higher but that is to be expected.

First night in Paris and decided to give this place a shot.  Looks like that was a mistake!  I ordered the thick rump steak which ended up being the THINNEST steak I have ever ate, maybe it was Opposite Day I have no idea.  On the menu it said the meal would come with small baked potatoes instead it came with French fries.  My wife got the seasonal fish which was a red mullet, probably the driest fish I've ever ate.  I would avoid this place even if it's convenient.  I forgot to mention the waiter Edis was like a little weasel just pretending like he didn't know how to speak English but at the end he does...he misrepresented the food and built up the food like it was this amazing meal but it was just crap.  Classic tourist trap!

very different and contemporary menu.  truly delicious and enjoyable food. be prepared to spend some time and money on the meal though.

Cool, friendly little neighborhood cafe across from the Villiers metro.  We stopped for a mid-afternoon snack and coffee, and really enjoyed it.  Michael Jackson music looping in the background.  My wife had onion soup, and said it was the best she has had in Paris (and she has been on a mission to find the best!).  She had a Americano coffee, and also really liked it.  I had a Perrier and cheese.  So other than the onion soup, can't speak to the cooking.  But again, very pleasant, friendly neighborhood cafe.
