We really enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Winchester during our honeymoon in South Africa! Highly recommend a sea facing room for a beautiful view. The rooms were clean and spacious, especially the large bathroom. The included breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It included a fresh buffet and menu items fresh to order like omelettes, eggs Benedict, etc. The staff were very kind and helpful with all our needs. Also very conveniently located right across from the pick up spot for the hop on hop off bus.

Went for dinner with my wife at The Winchester Hotel. While waiting for our food, I had to kill three cockroaches that crawled out from under the restaurant seats against the walls (grey tops). I understand that pests can be a challenge in food establishments, but for a hotel of this caliber, it’s completely unacceptable. It ruined the dining experience, and I simply couldn’t stay. I politely informed the manager that I was not comfortable eating there and left. Extremely disappointing for what is supposed to be a premium establishment.

The Winchester hotel is located on the coast, just minutes from the V &A wharf. The rooms might be considered a bit small for Americans. There is no room for two suitcases much less one. Although there is A/C, it worked intermittently. The hotel is beautiful and the staff is fantastic. Buffet breakfasts are lovely...very European, but you can also order off a menu. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

My sister and I stopped for breakfast at the Winchester hotel, we were welcome by the most amazing staff and I would like to also highlight the gentlemen that served us, Jerry! Oh wow man, what a treat it was to be served by him. He was so patient, kind and gracious. His attention to detail and small talk made the experience so wonderful.  Jerry! You were absolutely amazing.
