This was one of the loveliest dining experiences we have ever had. I seriously cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It feels like stepping into one of those cheesy movies where someone who genuinely loves food and service and people has a dream of creating a restaurante that is different from everything else, do you know what I mean? And stepping into this restaurant makes you feel apart of that movie, makes you feel part of someone’s dream come true. Good luck to the owners and I hope The Checkers continues to thrive for many years to come with the same quality and excellence! Congratulations

The people here really know their food and drink, and the menu includes some very fine Welsh ingredients. The service is attentive but unstuffy. The place also has a very nice atmosphere. We had the tasting menu - and enjoyed every single bit of it. This was our second visit and we'll be back!

Delicious food on the tasting menu, served with well considered matched wines. Anywhere which makes carrots memorable is touched by genius!
Quirky bedroom, but quiet at night and pleasant nonetheless.

Five of us went to Checkers on Friday for the tasting menu, and it was fabulous. A roaring fire, great champagne to start. The food was amazing, and the matching wines just topped it off. It was a fantastic small restaurant, and for the quality of the food and drink, it was very good value. I can't believe the place isn't bursting at the seams. Definitely one to try.
