I recently had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful place. I was very pleased with the excellent service, and the design and ambiance of the restaurant were a delightful surprise. My friend and I love trying new dishes, and that evening, we decided to sample the chicken gizzards. To be honest, it’s an acquired taste, and unfortunately, it wasn’t for us, so we asked for it to be taken away. I was genuinely surprised when the manager came over to inquire why we had returned it. We politely explained that we simply wanted to try something new and hadn’t meant to request it be removed from the bill. The manager graciously apologized and went ahead and removed it from our check, which was such a kind gesture. We really enjoyed the chicken wings, and my personal favorite was the soju with gin and tonic! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant!

Open for dinner, we made reservations for 5pm. Reservations are definitely recommended as the restaurant fills up pretty quickly.  We were seated at our table by the courteous staff.  The menu is filled with so many great dishes that it was a bit difficult to choose. We ended up ordering the Cod Roe Omelette, Braised Pork Belly, Chapguri, Bulgogi Black Garlic Fried Rice and Army Stew.  The Army Stew was so rich and delicious it’s like comfort food for your soul. The Cod Roe Omelette was amazing, a definite must try! The braised pork, bulgogi rice, and chapaguri were also very flavorful. To wash it all down, we opted for the Orange Mango Soju Slushie and the Peach Makgulli. The Orange Slushie was a bit on the bitter side while the the peach makgulli was a pleasant pallet cleanser perfect for ending such a savory meal.  We have been to many restaurants in KTown and I have to say, Take31 is our new favorite. We can’t wait to go back and try some of the other dishes.  And the complimentary tteobokki is a nice touch.  What a great meal! Daebak!

Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. I ordered the spicy short rib lasagna and the corn pancake. Maybe my expectations were just too high having heard a lot about this place on social media but the food wasn't as amazing as I expected. It was pretty good, but the lasagna was missing some saltiness/acidity and the corn pancake was too sweet for my liking (could have used some more Parmesan/breading component imo). They do give a fantastic portion of short rib though especially for the price. Also, the water jar had some mildew on the bottom which was a little unpleasant.

We’ve been here many times, for dine-in and takeout, and the quality is consistently impressive.

Each dish comes with a complimentary small plate of tteokbokki, the classic Korean spicy rice cakes, which you can even ask to refill—a nice touch that enhances the dining experience!

Our favorites are the Butter Squid Fried Rice, which is delightfully buttery and flavorful, and the Garlic Crust and Spicy Chicken, where the crispy fried chicken has a perfect balance of spice and crunch. Another standout is the Short Ribs Chapaguri, a fusion of beef with the rich, savory flavors of Korean black bean noodles (jajangmyeon). These dishes keep us coming back for more!

Their signature soju cocktails are also a must-try, adding a refreshing touch to the experience.

If you plan to walk in, I recommend arriving about 15 minutes before opening, but making a reservation is ideal since it’s always busy. Take31 is well worth the wait and a great spot for anyone craving delicious Korean fusion in Koreatown.

If you think you know Korean cuisine, think again. Eating here reinforced our love for Korean food while astonishing us with new and innovative takes on traditional dishes. The chefs who devised the menu really deserve all the plaudits.

Right from the moment of being seated, we were treated to complimentary servings of spicy rice cakes. We enjoyed our slushy and sweet Makgulli (Yoghurt) drinks order while browsing through an interesting mix of main dishes.

Given the versatility of cooking methods and fresh ingredients, each dish had its own personality: the Braised Pork Belly was tender and well balanced by its garnish. The Crispy Corn Pancake had an addictive quality due to the crunchiness of each bite and mini bursts of sweet flavour. The Bulgogi Black Garlic Fried Rice was an excellent fusion of a Korean BBQ classic with the hearty comfort of fried rice. Finally, the complex textures and flavours of the Cod Roe Omelette elevated this dish to a league of its own and was hands down our favourite order.

Overall, this was an exciting modern and high end take on Korean cuisine that was worth every dollar paid.

We suggest securing your seats in advance to avoid disappointment. (We got lucky without reservations by being there at the very start and needing only a table for two, for an hour).
