It’s a nice restaurant located at a rather inconvenient location.

Heavily influenced by Japanese cuisine, I came with a high expectations as I travel around Asia regularly for food. Unfortunately it wasn’t as good as I had expected, but it’s not bad either. It was unique but just missed the mark of how Japanese food should be, and I understand as it can be challenging for locals to know unless they have been to Japan.

The cocktail was good. Service can be better.

We really enjoyed this 8 course tasting menu, which was excellently paired with wines. Gary, our server, provided a very friendly but professional service, showing an incredible knowledge of the wine and food, making us feel very comfortable and adding to the experience.

My favourite dish was the springbok, but everything was great, no complaints!

I went to Fyn with very high expectations. It came highly reviewed by others and was on a top 50 in the world list.

Decor was pretty fun. Kinda like a fancy dark barn setting. The food felt very Japanese inspired and even reminded me of some of the presentations I had at restaurants in Japan. I enjoyed all of the dishes but none of them really wowed me the way I expected for the status of the restaurant. This was a good meal and an enjoyable experience.  It my favorite meal I’ve had in Cape Town.

Fyn was an incredible experience. The food, service and ambiance was totally exceptional.

Out servers Marcus and Samantha were both brilliant. They were knowledgeable and made fantastic recommendations, and both truly made our night all the more memorable.

I adore the vibe and overall ambiance of Fyn. The Asian/South African fusion was
all the way down to the Ikebana inspired table arrangements!

The food at Fyn is  phenomenal. Every course of our experience was different; had differing textures; and had a uniqueness of flavour that was tremendous.

I personally found the flavours of the lamb course  to be similar to other fine dining experiences I have prevously had elsewhere, but cannot take away from the technical perfection of the dish (there is also only so much one can do with lamb).

That said each seafood dish was unique in terms of flavour and the South African Wagu course was inspired. Listen to your server and go ahead and upgrade the lamb to a higher marble score, it's wonderful and worth it!

Fyn ranks among the best fine dining experiences that I have had and I do not hesitate to recommend same. I am deeply appreciative to our servers and the whole team for making our evening a memorable one!

Very unique experience for lunch or dinner.  We did the Experience Tasting Menu and it did not disappoint!  Ordered a bottle of wine instead of the tasting and it was just right.  Be prepared to try some things you’ve never had and they are all delicious!
