Injeongjeon (인정전 or 仁政殿) is the double-story building for official events in Changdeokgung Palace (창덕궁 or 昌德宮). ' Injeong (仁政) means ' good governance', the large courtyard of Injeongjeon is called Jojeong (朝廷) where the King meeting his officials and people. The rank stones lined up on the left and right of the three swords are inscribed with 18 ranks each as a sign of the positions of civil and military officials.  Despite of the double story building exterior, the Injeongjeon is actually only single story from the inside, making it looks very grandiose.

This is main hall of the Changdeokgung Palace, and probably the most visually impressive of the buildings on the palace ground. It is beautiful, and as a result, probably the most crowded area in the entire palace. But no visit to Changdeokgung would be complete without a visit here

창덕궁의 정전입니다. 그래서 인지 국보로 지정되어있습니다. 말 그대로 어진 정치를 펼치겠다는 의지가 담겨있는 곳입니다. 태조 때 창건되었으나 임진왜란 때 불탔고 광해군 때 재건된 이후 순조 때 소실되었다가 다시 지었습니다. 순종 이어 이후로 많은 변형이 있었다고 합니다. 다른 정전과 달리 용마루에 이화문이 장식되어 있습니다. 그것을 두고 여러 설들이 있으나 정확한 것은 없는 듯합니다. 임진왜란 이후 고종 초까지 재건되지 못한 경복궁을 대신해 사실상 정궁의 정전 역할을 했던 곳이기도 합니다. 대체로 정전 답게 위용 있고 멋진 곳이지만 박석을 너무 반듯하게 복원해 놓은 것은 조금 아쉽습니다.

It was founded during the reign of King Taejo, but burned down during the Japanese invasions of Korea, and was rebuilt during the reign of Gwanghaegun. It was then destroyed and rebuilt during the reign of King Sunjo. It is said that there have been many variations since the time of King Sunjong. Unlike other main shrines, the ridge is decorated with Ihwamun Gate. There are many theories about it, but none seem to be accurate. It is also a place that effectively served as the main palace's main palace, replacing Gyeongbokgung Palace, which was not rebuilt until the early days of King Gojong after the Japanese invasions of Korea. In general, it is a majestic and wonderful place, as expected from Jeongjeon, but it is a bit disappointing that the park stone was restored so neatly.
