Had two group lunches here on holiday with friends and family. Exceptional food, service and great location on the beach. They are so proud of the food here the Executive Chef, Jonathan visited every table both times we dined to chat and make sure things were just right; which they were as he has such a great team. Favourites included fresh shrimp in angel hairs with a home made chilli dip, soft shell crab tempura, beef cheek green curry and steamed seabass with lime dressing. Actually everything we had was fantastically fresh and delicious. Exceptional.

We chose the Boathouse Restaurant because of its great reviews. The ambiance was lovely, perfect for watching the sunset, and the atmosphere was inviting. However, the food and service did not meet our expectations, especially given the high prices. We paid around 2,500 baht for two people, one starter and two main dishes, expecting top-notch quality. The lobster ravioli, listed as a signature dish, was more like a bisque soup with dumplings and lacked depth. The burger - also a signature dish - was disappointing, with hard to chew, peppery meat, overall dry, and very pale undercooked fries.

The highlight was the strawberry dessert, which was delicious, and the drinks were really enjoyable. I got the Virgin Pina Colada. Manager Daniele’s attentiveness and efforts made the experience better, and we appreciated his hospitality. Without his efforts and enthusiasm we would have left the restaurant without dessert, which would have been a shame.

Overall, while the ambiance, the strawberry dessert and the manager Daniele were excellent - the food and service did not justify the price.

There’s potential for improvement, but as it stands, I can only give it three stars.

Overpriced, with poor tasting food. Very disappointed as I have read positive reviews for this place and booked it for a romantic night out. Mediocre would be a generous review of the food.

Hamburger was tough, dry and tasteless. Lamb shank was too sweet and taste of lamb was overpowered.
Desert was way too sweet.

The only saving grace would be the great seaside view and fine dining experience. But if you're only into the view, do yourself a favour and just picnic on the beach with any random street food takeaway. Guaranteed to taste better.

We live here as expats and this is our ‘go to’ restaurant for a classy night out or a beachfront lunch on a sunny afternoon (every day :) and even to entertain friends staying with us for a great breakfast. Couldn’t find a better view - right beside the beach but still private.

Jonathon, the Chef, is engaged, masterful and caring in what his restaurant produces.  The staff are long term, well trained and professional.

The standard menu is comprehensive and in addition they create regular special menus often with optional free flow drinks. Yesterday we took a table with two other friends and enjoyed a Penfold’s Pairing menu which was excellent.  Attention to detail to try and make it a little ‘Aussie’ included beetroot with the fresh black salmon as well as lamb shank finished with a Lamington twist …

Another great night out and we’ll be back in weeks time for Christmas Dinner!
