One of our favorite aspects was the hotel’s strong commitment to sustainability, with water refill stations conveniently located throughout the property. This thoughtful feature made a positive impact on our experience and reflected the hotel’s care for both guests and the environment.

The spa and gym facilities were clean, accessible, and uncrowded, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy the amenities at our own pace. Breakfast was also a highlight, with a wide selection of delicious options catering to various tastes and dietary needs.

The attention to detail from the housekeeping team was impressive; they seemed to anticipate our needs and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Additionally, the concierge staff provided excellent recommendations for local dining, helping us discover authentic spots and avoid tourist-heavy areas.

Finally, the location of the hotel was ideal—just a short walk to the main attractions, making it a convenient base for exploring Budapest. All in all, our experience at the Dorothea Hotel was amazing, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay.

Love this hotel! Its location is fantastic, near all of the sights. The reception area is stunning, so elegant and airy. You are offered their signature drink which is lavender and caramel water - both delicious.

The room is stunning. I was told building used to be an insurance firm. They’ve done a fantastic job of converting the rooms. I would stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Dorothea Hotel in Budapest and was impressed by the quality of the room. It was spacious, comfortable, and nicely decorated, providing a relaxing atmosphere after a day of sightseeing. The location is a huge plus—within easy walking distance of major attractions and well-connected to public transportation, making it convenient for exploring the city.

However, I was disappointed with the level of service, which fell short of what I would expect from an Autograph Collection hotel. Daily cleaning was missed on several occasions, and although I raised this with reception, it wasn't resolved until I brought it up a second time. While the staff was polite, the delayed response was frustrating and somewhat dampened the experience.

Overall, while the location and comfort are standout features, the service issues were a letdown. I hope the hotel can address this to align better with the Autograph Collection's usual standards.

I recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, the experience did not meet the standards expected from a 5-star establishment. Here are some of the main issues we encountered: Our group of seven people, spread across two separate reservations, experienced a check-in process that took almost an hour. After a tiring overnight flight, one of us—whose name was on the reservation and had to handle the check-in—started feeling unwell and asked for some water. Instead of assisting, the front desk staff directed us to purchase water outside. For a 5-star hotel, offering at least tap water in such situations should be a given, especially when someone is visibly unwell and waiting at the reception for such an extended time. We were told we’d receive an email when the rooms were ready, so we waited nearby, trusting the hotel’s word. However, even after the designated check-in time had passed, no email arrived. When we finally approached the front desk, we discovered that the rooms had been ready for a while, but the staff had neglected to notify us. If the staff is too busy to inform guests, it’s better to be upfront about it instead of making false promises. This miscommunication caused unnecessary delays when we were already exhausted. Our luggage was stored upon arrival, and we were assured it would be delivered to our rooms. While this eventually happened for most of us, one room (on a separate reservation) didn’t receive their luggage for several hours. Despite multiple calls to the front desk, the situation was only resolved after we personally went downstairs to ensure someone brought it up. Waiting until late evening to shower and settle in after an overnight flight was extremely frustrating. One room on a higher floor had severe water problems. The water pressure was very weak, and the temperature fluctuated between scalding hot and freezing cold, making it impossible to shower comfortably. Maintenance confirmed that this was a known issue and mentioned that the only real solution would be to switch rooms. However, since we had already been told earlier at the front desk that the hotel was fully booked (this was also the explanation for other delays during our stay), we knew switching rooms wasn’t a viable option. Exhausted and frustrated, we simply gave up pursuing the matter further. Beyond these significant issues, there were several smaller inconveniences that, while not critical, added up to a disappointing stay. Overall, this hotel fell far short of delivering the luxury experience it advertises. In a city with so many options, I’d recommend looking elsewhere for better value for your money.

Amazing room, amazing staff, and fantastic service! Special thanks to Sofia at the service desk, she was super friendly and gave us excellent recommendations. Shoutout to the gentleman who helped with our bags (sorry, we forgot his name) but he was incredibly kind and shared some great insights about Budapest. The cleaning staff did a fabulous job, and overall, this team really made our stay in Budapest special. Thank you!
