The food at ROK was absolutely delicious—every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. On top of that, the service was incredible. Our waitress was not only super kind and attentive, but also really charming! She even moved us to a better table with a stunning view of the church, which made the experience even more special. The atmosphere is cozy and stylish, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a great meal. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Reykjavik!

Great ambient restaurant near the main cathedral.
Smaller dishes than other restaurants (which they let you know), so a bit spendy, but excellent quality.
Not a huge menu but still good variety. Reservations likely needed tho possible to get bar seating.
Well worth a visit!

A great restaurant near Hallgrímskirkja. We visited in November, and the warm and cosy atmosphere of the restaurant was a real life saver after the arctic winds we had to endure on our way there.
The staff was friendly and professional. We didn't reserve a table, but we got lucky, as they happened to have a free table. It's important to note, that we visited the restaurant on a Wednesday at around 4 pm, and I wouldn't recommend visiting the restaurant at a busier time without a reservation.
The food was served minutes after ordering it. We were told by the staff, that they serve small-medium portions, and we were advised to order multiple dishes, so we won't leave hungry. Taking their advice, we (my partner and I) ordered six dishes in total, which proved to be enough for us.
The food was excellent, the menu had a great variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes. I would recommend getting the reindeer fillet and the wild mushroom risotto.

The small tasting dishes is an interesting concept. I liked most of the dishes I had, with only a few being ok to me. Very busy some nights, so would definitely recommend a reservation.

The excellent food was tarnished by the shockingly terrible service. It took 1 hour for us to be served (after a clear error on the part of the wait staff and/or the kitchen) and, after that, another 30 minute wait to receive a glass of wine. After all of this there was no clear apology or acknowledgement on the part of the staff. Again, the food was excellent but it just ruined the whole experience and our evening as we watched over a dozen tables be turned over while we waited for our food.

I would hope this treatment wouldn’t be a common occurrence at such a nice restaurant, but I have to write from personal experience.

(Also I ordered a martini and simply did not receive a martini).
