A Texan cannot pretend to know much about authentic, old-school fine dining in Tokyo, but this place made a lasting, positive impression. Lunch for 6 in a private room took 2 hours, served by a knowledgeable waitress in traditional dress. Pacing of the courses was perfectly timed. The quality of the tofu was as good as one would expect from innkeepers that are justifiably proud of their product. If you want old-school Japanese dining elegance...this is the place!

Don't miss this gem in Tokyo. Lovely garden, rich history, great food and friendly hosts. Do arrive a bit early and stay after meal to marvel the garden and the wine making quarter. The host gave us a narrative tour of the house in Japanese before leading us to our private room on the 2nd floor that over looking the garden and fry kitchen.  We had issues with their online reservation system, so you may want to have the hotel making the reservation for you.

The course meals were great. I didn't give it a 5/5 because some of the dish didn't suit my personal taste. Some folks who prefer a more mild and lighter flavor would probably give this a 5/5. Every dish was good, but based on the food itself it isn't worth the price. But if you add in the service and location view, I think it's definitely worth a visit during special occasions.

I love the dessert the most!
I don't recommend any of the tea. Tasted very watered down.

The scenery and atmosphere here is really beautiful, and makes for a wonderful location for photos. Tokyo tower is visible from the courtyard.

The food however is less memorable. I ordered the Tsuki lunch set for ¥17000 and was slightly underwhelmed. The courses were small with a lot of variety as is expected of these kinds of places, but I can’t say I liked most of them.
