Overall a lovely restaurant. Great for nut allergy as no dishes actively contain nuts. Food and service lovely. Busy until late so recommend booking.

Starter: Whitefish. Was really light and summery. Well prepared fish with only a subtle rhubarb taste (which I really liked as I’m not a massive rhubarb fan)

Main: Reindeer. Really love. Again light but really tasty. Loved the mayo with the garlic oil.

Dessert: White chocolate moose. Lovely. Again light and airy.

Cons
- Very noisy when the restaurant is full so quite hard to have dinner conversation
- No air con so very hot in the warm weather

We grabbed a reservation for our first night in Helsinki & weren’t disappointed. We both did the 3 course meal and wine pairings and everything we had was outstanding. Great depth of flavor, clearly using fresh local ingredients, and the wine pairings were terrific in adding to the meal. The staff were friendly & answered all of our questions about various ingredients for our first time visiting Finland. Highly recommend Ateljé!

Nov2022. I had eaten here 10years ago during a previous stop in Helsinki. My second experience was even better than my souvenirs. Amazing food and service. The menu is short, but that’s what you want. It features nice variations around Finnish gastronomy.
One thing blew my mind away. A fish dish (pike perch). It’s generally easy to impress with meat dishes as the power of flavors is so strong, and fish dishes can appear a bit bland. Well not at all in this restaurant - this fish fish was a concerto of suble flavors, purely succulent. Bravo!

Never disappointed and always amazed at the quality of food and service! The fermented potato with roe and reindeer tartar was the perfect starters for my partner and I. Followed by the poached fish and reindeer roast. The reindeer was perfectly cooked and the beets were great accompaniments. Though I love the unami from the dashi butter, i would say the fish is a tad too salty and overcooked. Nonetheless, finished strong with a very delicious licorice creme brulee that I wanted more of! The apple crumble was also nice dessert but definitelt the creme brulee was the star!

Excellent food and attentive service . We had reindeer tartar with pickled mushrooms and fermented garlic mayonnaise, reindeer roast and a creme brulee with liquorice together with matching wines .
