Located in a heritage building and it has a bamboo yard. Great for intimate wedding/event setting.

Confused

Based on reviews and searches Fu 1039 seemed like a good idea as well as the other ones. What better place to capture the peak of Shanghainese cuisine than a ~Michelin starred~ Shanghainese restaurant… or so I thought?

The atmosphere - our reservation of 3 was crammed in a corner of a dining room style floor, nothing fantastic or notable about the setting besides being located within a heritage townhouse (which just seemed like an old townhouse, nothing too special inside or at least it wasn’t noted to us if any). The exterior was beautiful, reception was in the driveway and you walk through into the entry way with nothing unique in decor etc… just an old townhouse greeted by a buddha statue.

The facilities - nothing of luxury I could recognize, plastic garbage cans everywhere, crooked urinal, exposed pipes and not somewhere anyone wants to linger if their life depended on it.

The food - honestly wouldnt have cared about the above if i found any appeal or notable on the food. We ordered 3 apps, 3 mains and a few sides - all ones that people should “try” in shanghai. We didnt finish any amongst the 3 of us, cant even remember what they tasted like. Seems like someone took all the airline economy class dishes and platted it. Bland, nothing unique in taste. Your run of the mill lunch spot in shanghai could put something better together. If you were inclined to still try, the braised pork belly and the cold spicy pork appetizer was just above palpable. Also the table next to us got their cokes served out of a can, at least get them a glass? Seems the least you can do for a white table cloth restaurant

The Service - not anything unique, china has plenty of nice restaurants that provide better service. Kind of felt neglected besides the waitress pouring us tea during the meal - no explanation on the dishes served as many more basic chinese restaurants even would.

Summary: Confused on where the michelin star or rating even came from, did they get them drunk? Everything was average at best in china and id compare it to olive garden back at home

Authentic shanghainese dining place in a quaint old building! Love the braised pork belly and smoked fish which are a must order! definitely a place to visit when you are in shanghai.

📌2021米其林，生意很好，建議先訂位。

📌室內收訊很差，有提供wifi但連十幾分鐘才連上。

📌不能帶自己的酒去開，只能喝店家提供的酒單。後來跟店家溝通，我們在店裡買一支並喝完就能和我們自己帶的酒。

🥢脆皮鹹雞：冷菜。上菜時我們還想說這樣怎麼會脆皮？沒想到皮真的微微脆，肉很有嚼勁。鹹度剛好，很入味。好吃。

🥢老上海燻魚：冷菜熱做是「福」系列的獨創也是特色。甜但卻不會太甜，香酥可口，很好吃。

🥢油爆河蝦：河蝦小小，很是新鮮，可以連殼一起吃下去。脆、彈牙、蝦肉飽滿。酥脆卻不會太乾。

🥢牛三寶：同行友人嗜辣所以點了菜單上唯一的辣菜。入口後完全不辣😂 蠻普通的一道菜。

🥢紅燒肉：五花肉的肥瘦比例剛好所以吃起來不會太油膩，但是醬料偏甜，我個人吃一塊就已是極限。口感軟糯豐腴，香且細膩。皮有嚼勁，瘦肉不柴。好吃。

🥢炒嫩豌豆：除去了豆莢🫛只剩下又嫩又鮮的豌豆，吃起來清脆爽口。豌豆在口中爆開，很好吃！

🥢生日麵：訂位的時候問了句當日壽星有打折嗎？店家回覆沒有但可以送一份生日麵。生日麵是炒麵，很入味但有點鹹。

📌Indoor signal reception is very poor, wifi is provided but it took more than ten minutes to connect.

📌You cannot bring your own wine to the store, you can only drink the wine list provided by the store. After communicating with the store, we could buy one in the store and drink it with the wine we brought with us.

🥢Crispy Salted Chicken: Cold dish. When we served the food, we were wondering how the skin would be crispy like this? Unexpectedly, the skin was really slightly crispy and the meat was chewy. The saltiness is just right and very tasty. tasty.

🥢Old Shanghai smoked fish: hot and cold dishes are the originality and feature of the "Fu" series. Sweet but not too sweet, crispy and delicious.

🥢Oil-fried river prawns: The river prawns are small and very fresh, and can be eaten with the shells on. Crispy, chewy, and plump shrimp meat. Crispy but not too dry.

🥢Niu Sanbao: My friend who was traveling with me loves spicy food, so I ordered the only spicy dish on the menu. It's not spicy at all after entering the mouth 😂 It's a pretty ordinary dish.

🥢Braised Pork: The fat-to-lean ratio of pork belly is just right so it doesn’t taste too greasy, but the sauce is on the sweet side. Personally, eating just one piece is the limit. The taste is soft and plump, fragrant and delicate. The skin is chewy and the meat is lean. tasty.

🥢Sauteed tender peas: Remove the pods🫛Only the tender and fresh peas are left, which taste crisp and refreshing. The peas exploded in your mouth, so delicious!

🥢Birthday noodles: When I made a reservation, I asked if there was any discount for the birthday girl on that day. The store replied that they didn’t have it but they could give me a birthday noodle. The birthday noodles are fried noodles, which are delicious but a bit salty.

味道挺道地的，燻魚，春捲，薺菜餛飩，黃魚麵，紅燒肉等都不錯。算是不錯的米其林一星。

The taste is quite authentic, the smoked fish, spring rolls, shepherd's purse wontons, yellow croaker noodles, braised pork, etc. are all good. It's a pretty good Michelin star.
