I had an amazing experience at the Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund, specifically at the Grand Brasserie. The restaurant did a fantastic job with everything—from the exquisite food to the inviting ambiance. Our kids loved it.

A special thanks to Monica Zhang, who truly went above and beyond with her exceptional service. She was incredibly friendly and patient, ensuring that we felt completely welcomed and well cared for throughout our meal.

The noodle with spring onion oil was a standout dish—absolutely delicious and easily one of the best I’ve ever had! Every dish on the menu was thoughtfully prepared and packed with flavor. The variety and quality of the breakfast offerings were simply outstanding, making it the perfect way to start the day. One of their kitchen staff speaks wonderful English which leaves our kids can order what they wanted.

We have done bit of travelling recently years, and mostly stayed at 5 stars hotels for the convenience of our kids, I highly recommend this hotel if travelling to Shanghai.            Wonderful staff, nice food and great location. Thank you to the entire team for making this such a memorable and delightful experience!

Great hotel with perfect location! The indoor pool is also a must see. The pool manager Nara was very nice and even couched us how to swim better. The kids and I had a great time there

Heard about how prestige and nice this brand is. Finally gotten to try this branch in Shanghai as gold member. Room decent for hotel of this level. Aesop toiletries. Unfortunate that service is cold and/or lack of any. A lot of staff standing at lobby but look away when see you. Reception replies short and lack warmth. Most of the staff seem young or on temp basis. They dun lack business given the clientele they serve. The only nice person I see is the cleaning lady who works and try so hard. We were on level 8.

Great property, location and staff. The rooms are not the biggest in town — the Hilton Diamond upgrades will you only take you so far, but that’s offset by a great location and service. The food is quite decent too and the concierge is both very knowledgeable and fluent in English which in China can be hard to find.

This is my first time staying at a Waldorf Astoria hotel, and I am very disappointed with the service.

When I upgraded my room at the front desk, the staff asked me the same question five times within 15 minutes.

After completing the check-in process, I had to wait another 30 minutes in the lobby.

This wasted a lot of my time. The front desk staff needs to improve their service skills, the lobby facilities are inadequate, and there is a lack of personalized service.

Let’s see how much longer I will have to wait…
