This Cantonese BBQ Sui Mei [燒味] specialty shop/restaurant really delivers above expectations. Arriving early on a weekday for lunch meant getting seated with minimal wait—a great start. Three dishes hit the table: roasted duck leg [燒鴨] with lai fan noodles, char siu [叉燒] with soy sauce chicken [豉油雞] on rice, and roasted goose [燒鵝] on rice.

The roasted duck leg and char siu were the clear standouts—packed with flavor, tender, and perfectly balanced with just the right amount of char and crispiness. The roasted goose, though tasty, had slightly tougher, rougher meat compared to the duck.

The rice were elevated by the incredible Sui Mei sauce and a touch of ginger scallion sauce, making even plain rice irresistible. The lai fan noodles brought their own charm with a rich, flavorful broth that was especially comforting on a chilly winter day.

Overall, this spot delivers a satisfying Cantonese BBQ experience full of flavor, making it well worth a visit. Just a heads-up—there are two queues, one for takeout and another for dine-in, so be sure to get in the right line.

One downside is the air conditioning, which was blasting on a cold winter day. Whether intentional or not, it made the space uncomfortably cold and caused the food to cool down quickly—far from ideal for Sui Mei since it can turn greasy when cold. A small adjustment here would make the experience even better.

Absolutely spot on cooked meat. The roasted pork was a smashing 9.5/10, particularly special was the sauce that accompanied it. Staff were great as well and if you go at the right time there’s plenty of seating.

although its abit on the pricier side i have never been disappointed by the cha siu here.  you get the charred flavour and the sauce there is just sweet and light compliment the meat so well. If you happen to order chicken as well get their ginger scallion oil its so good

The roast goose was not bad. However, I prefer the roast pork. It was soft and delicious which go really well with streamed rice.

I would recommend rice instead of noodles as the soup would make the skin no longer crispy. Drumstick was really expensive. Already expensive without drumstick actually, but it could just be the market price in Hong Kong. We are tourists so not sure of the market price. Dining in was quite cramped as it was a small space. Take out cost $1 more. Char siew was good. Wanted to tried roasted pork but sold out on both days. Maybe it’s really good. Let me know if you manage to try it.
